WELL- BLUSHED: FIND THE RIGHT BLUSH FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE

Blushes are staple make- up products in a Beauty Junkee's stash. Every color gives a surge of glow on a cheek. It instantly blooms up a dull or a stressed face and it never fails to naturally enhance one's beauty.

Know what the colors are for:

PEACH, GOLD AND CORAL- For a sun- kissed look; amplifies tan skin

PINKS, REDS AND ROSE- For a blooming, just- pinched, and pretty look

BROWNS, BEIGES, MAUVES- For a 'barely there' blush; also works for contouring

BLUSH VARIANTS:

Liquid

Gel

Cream/ Mousse

Powder

But not all kinds of blushes will work on all skin types. As far as skin types are concerned, various blush formulations were created to suit specific skin types.

Let's now go to the kinds of blushes, and know what will best suit your skin type:

DRY SKIN

- If you see white, blotchy patches on your cheeks, nose, and chin, and in some worse cases, your skin cracks occasionally, you have dry skin. Dry skin is quite a problem because going for the wrong kind of blush might emphasize those blotchy areas more.

BEST BLUSH FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE:

Liquid and Gel

-These are more likely to quench your dry skin. But you must always blend these right away, for it can settle in the lines and cracks, leaving you with nasty red patches.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO USE OTHER VARIANTS?

- You can, actually. If you want to use a powder blush, just make sure you prepare your skin by applying moisturizer underneath, then set it with powder. That way, the moisturizer will act like lotion in keeping your skin nourished all throughout the day. You may have a hard time making Cream blushes work because it may settle into the cracks.

OILY SKIN

- If your T- Zone (Forehead, nose, area below the nose and chin) becomes greasy, or if your cheeks are always shiny, you have oily skin. Oil excreted by the skin can cause your make- up to run off from your face, just like how oil is supposed to remove make- up.

BEST BLUSH FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE:

Powder

- Powder is definitely one way to battle oil, so powder blushes will work best for gals with this skin type because it absorbs oil while providing color. Powder blushes have the tendency to stay longer on oily skin.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO USE OTHER VARIANTS?

- Yes, you can. Liquid and Gel blushes will work if you use an oil- free moisturizer underneath. Set your face with powder, apply the liquid or gel blush on your cheeks, then lightly dust some powder on it to seal it. However, you may need to reapply it during wear. Cream blushes may not work well for this skin type because it has mineral oil that can aggravate facial oil.

COMBINATION SKIN

- If you have an oily t- zone with some patches on your cheeks, chin or nose, You have combination skin. Combination skin is another problem, because you have to deal with two skin types.

BEST BLUSH FOR YOU SKIN TYPE:

Liquid and Powder

- You have to know if your skin is more dry than oily, and vice versa. If it's more on the oily side, use a powder blush, If your cheeks are more rough than oily, use liquid or gel blush.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO USE OTHER VARIANTS?

- Of course you can. Again, make sure you prep your skin properly. It's better to use a moisturizer or primer specifically made for Combination skin. You may opt to use Gel blush since it's dewy and water- based formulation can help in quenching your skin surface.

NORMAL SKIN

- Congratulations! INDULGE! You have all the right to use any blush type you prefer.

BEST BLUSH FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE:

Cream/Mousse

- Cream blushes provide a very dewy effect on the skin. Since your skin is not problematic, you have all the right to use it on your skin. It is very pigmented, and it lasts long too, depending on your setting powder. Again, for make- up to stay longer, you still have to prepare your skin before make- up application.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO USE OTHER VARIANTS?

- Of course you can! Powder, Liquid or Gel, feel free to choose! :)
