 THE VERDICT:

Today, I will review Benefit's Feelin' Dandy makeup set. I chose this over the other Lip and Cheek sets because it has some of the products that I've been meaning to try such as High Beam, Dandelion Blush, and Dandelion Lipgloss. It's nice to know that I don't have to pay a lot just to find out how these three products will work for me.

It's quite a handy box because its size and weight is perfect for traveling. FYI, you can remove all the contents and reuse the box to house small trinkets such as earrings and small rings.

I love how Benefit would always include makeup guides in their products. It just lets you know how you can make the most out of everything. Likewise, it teaches any makeup newbie how to work any product!

Right in between the flaps is a mirror that's big enough for you to see your face.

DANDELION AND POSIETINT

Dandelion is a very pale powdery pink blush with micro shimmers.

However, I was kinda' disappointed with it because the color won't show up on my skin at all--not even the shimmers. To get a decent color payoff, I have to layer it on for at least six times! With this box, thankfully, I didn't have to blow cash on a product that would disappoint me in the end. That's one lemming off my list!

I'd like to believe that Dandelion is more of a highlighter than a blush--it shows up better on a layer of a more pigmented cheek color. It's also best used to set light pink cream blushes, and as a lid wash. In this photo, I've used it on top of Posietint and color payoff is a little better than using it alone. On the other hand, Posietint does not show up well on its own too, at least to me. Both products support each other so I use them together always. For morena gals, Dandelion and Posietint are good for daytime use only. On fair- skinned ladies, these products would show up a bit better.

Here's Posietint on my lips. I have reviewed this product a few years back so please check my detailed review HERE.

Fast forward to now. I don't know, but seems like they have improved the formulation of Posietint. It shows up better on my lips now as compared to before, or maybe that's just me. But if they really did, then that's awesome!

DANDELION LIPGLOSS

Dandelion is a pale pink lipgloss with a tiny hint of peach and silver and gold micro shimmers. I like the feel of Benefit's lipgloss so this one really does it for me. Please check out my detailed review of Benefit's Ultra Plush Lipgloss HERE.

DANDELION ALONE- It's almost like icy pink on my lips. Coverage is transparent, and I like it that way because it looks more natural. The shade is kinda' pale, but I find that it does not wash me out nor make my teeth appear luridly yellow. I like using it whenever I'm sporting an ultra fresh and pretty look. This lipgloss just seals the deal.

When worn with Posietint, the pink tone is enhanced and my lips' tone became more even. Whether alone or on top of Posietint, I like Dandelion.

HIGH BEAM

High Beam is one of Benefit's famed liquid highlighters. It's an icy pink shade with silver glimmers. Consistency is milky, and texture is very spreadable. This one's a bit tricky to use though as it dries up quickly. So I apply a sheer layer and blend it right away to prevent it from drying up on a certain spot, ergo looking unnatural. I just layer it on if ever I desire for more coverage.

High Beam is just the perfect inclusion in this kit to make Dandelion and Posietint more interesting. Basically, it's just the principle of color contrast at work here: High Beam is the lightest among the three products, and it helps Dandelion and Posietint, the darker colors, appear more obvious. That said, I think Benefit really knows how to repackage their products!

High Beam just gives me this lovely radiant look, although it looks a little obvious that I'm wearing a highlighter whenever I have it on. But I don't mind because it doesn't look off or weird given that I blend it evenly. High Beam is great if you have a smooth skin surface to begin with, but the pale shade and frosty effect may emphasize dry skin, bumps, cracks, and dips.

Here's my Feelin' Dandy look.

Overall, I think this set is great for fair- skinned ladies because the shades of the products lean towards lighter and paler colors. As for a morena gal like me, it's a good daytime makeup kit. The Lip and Cheek set is great for girls who are always traveling because it has a little bit of everything you need to don a full-blown makeup look without having to bring a lot of makeups.

When buying Benefit's makeup sets, always remember to go for something that will complement your skintone.
