INGENIOUS: Brag and Pantypak by The Brag Company

I like buying pricey bras and underwear because of the fit and quality-they last for a long time, hence I don't have to repurchase often. BUT-they're so pricey that I prefer not using them, especially when I travel for fear of losing their function, shape, and beauty. I'm sure you all know how unfriendly traveling is to innerwear, most especially brassieres, so I buy cheap bras as an alternative but alas, they're just that-cheap. In the end, I spend more because I buy bras every 6 months. (especially the cheap alternative ones) MY PRICEY INTIMATES ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP ME SAVE MONEY, RIGHT?!

Recently, this cute Brag and Pantypak combo from Velvet Rose Lingerie landed on my doorstep. Gosh, why didn't I think of the bra bag when I was faced with my intimate problem?! It could've minimized my vicious bra- buying cycle early on! Well, at least I've picked up some lessons along the way. What matters now is I have one! :)

I digress. I'm not really new to these bra bags as I've seen them in malls before and they're priced at around P200.00-P500.00, but I just found out that the idea started with The Brag Company, the makers of the original bra bag.

Jane Webb is the founder of The Brag Company. As an extensive traveler, Jane would always arrive only to find out that her precious bras are squished, folded, and crumpled inside her luggage, hence she invented the Brag to put an end to deformed bras, inconvenience, and frequent brassiere shopping. Later on, the Pantypaks were introduced to accompany the Brags and to keep knickers organized and sanitary.

Let's take a look at the Brag and Pantypak. By the way, the styles I have are called Tiffany:

The Pantypak is made from a lightweight, flexible material that you can compress so it can fit in any tight space of your luggage. It has the CLEAN and NOT SO CLEAN slots to segregate used and unused underwear. I love it! So hygienic! When traveling, I'd usually place my underwear underneath towels or clothes, or with my brassieres. I hate doing that since underwear touches my you-know-what so it should be packed in a clean bag that's only intended for it, but I always seem to have no choice. Also, the Pantypak saves you from mortifying moments during bag inspections by keeping your undies out of sight! :p The Pantypak solves the problem!

It also has an extra slot for sanitary pads, tampons, and pantyliners. All Pantypaks come with complementing Bra Bags.

And now, onto the Bra Bag:

The Bra Bag is made from the same material used in luggages, and it definitely feels sturdy to me. You can stack things on top of it and your bras will still be unharmed. However, it does have a little weight to it, but it's not the really heavy kind, and its size is a little wide for small luggages. The standard Bra Bag can fit A-C cups, and can house around 6-8 non-wired bras, 4-5 wired and bandeau bras, and 5-6 wired, non- wired, and bandeau bra combinations.

The thing I like about it is its spacious interior, giving my bras enough space to keep their shape intact.

The more affordable bags that I've mentioned are actually imitations of the Brag. Well, the imitations are not really fakes as I don't remember them bearing the name of the brand-it's more like they're cheaper versions of the Brag.

So, how do they differ from each other? Here's a comparison from Velvet Rose Lingerie:

Top: Authentic Bra Bag

Bottom: Imitation Bra Bag

Imitation: Made from thick foam that can get deformed overtime

Authentic: Made from the same material used in suitcases, hence you can stack things on top of it or throw it around without damaging your precious bras.

Imitation: Can only fit A cup brassieres; less spacious; has no lining and reinforcements

Authentic: Can fit A-C cup brassieres; more spacious; lined and reinforced

Imitation: Mostly comes with non-sturdy zipper closure and lining

Authentic: Comes with snap closures for quicker sealing

Imitation: Can fit mostly non-wired brassieres; Can only accommodate around 4 bras maximum (wired, non-wired, and bandeau combination); flattens bra cups when sealed

Authentic: Can fit all types of brassieres; Can accommodate 5-6 bras maximum (wired, non- wired, and bandeau combinations); Sturdy body keeps the shapes of your bra cups intact

The only difference between the imitation Brag and authentic Brag is the QUALITY, which actually makes all the difference. :)

Finally, I can wear and lug my pricey bras and underwear around and enjoy their perfect fit without worrying about them getting deformed or replacing them soon-it's like an insurance for my assets! :D Now the sad part is, I may not be able to travel at the moment as it is a work- filled summer for me. But if a travel opportunity comes my way, I'd definitely bring these babies with me! :)

  1. Wow these are nice and practical! I like the design Victoria. Now that I think of it, I never really bothered to take care of my brassieres which was silly because I pack them with care but when unpacking time came, they were deformed most of the time. As for the undies, I don't have any issues because I allot separate pouches for unused and used ones. The pouches have an underwear design stitched to them to warn airport security that these contain intimate apparel. This avoids awkward situations :)

  3. Great invention! A little pricey though (what good quality luggage isn't?) so one has to be a frequent traveler to justify getting one of these. I do get a pricey brand for my bras because they fit me perfectly, and I wouldn't want them squished when traveling.

  6. The Price is worth it, consider it as an investment! Once a bra gets deformed it will still fit, but not look as good.
The reason why we buy expensive Brassieres is because of their Fit!
And how it would complement whatever size we have.

The "Tosca Design" looks really classy!

  14. This is great! I hope they can invent something too that can protect lingerie while they're in the washing machine. Bra nets don't seem to work for me. :)

  15. You made an awesome comparison between the authentic and imitation ones. This is a GREAT help for buyers especially now that we are living in a world where everything is counterfeited. I'm sure our undergarments will thank us for giving them some TLC through these products!

  19. When I was younger, I didn't care about my bras because my mother bought them for me. Plus, they're the ones that have no shape, so I didn't have to worry about them getting all smooshed up when I travel. But when I started buying my own expensive lingerie, naloloka ako when I realize that they're getting all mashed up in my bag.

I buy expensive lingerie not only because of the quality, but because they also make me feel good and more confident. I've gotten a few pieces from Velvet Rose because they have really fun pieces from time to time. Hindi ko pa keri yung masyadong sexy! I'm definitely checking out these bra bags.
