THE VERDICT:

Okay, so the first Essence product I'm reviewing for everyone today is this eyeliner with a quirky, enticing name. Stays No Matter What claims to stay put for 24 hours. Let's see about that!

ESSENCE STAYS NO MATTER WHAT WATERPROOF EYELINER PEN IN DETAIL

Comes with in a felt applicator with a semi- sharp tip. I prefer brush type applicators-like the ones found in K-Palette-because they don't fan out easily unlike this one, and they really make precise lines. Also, felt applicators tickle my eyes. :p

Unfortunately, the ingredients of this product are nowhere to be found in the pen, but what I do like about it is it comes as is-no excessive packaging!

It's very pigmented and dries up quickly a few seconds after skin contact. It has no fragrance whatsoever and doesn't sting the eyes. Midnight Black is not really black to me-it kinda' has a tinge of dark blue in it if you'll look at it closely, but from afar, it just appears as plain black. Pigmentation is medium to heavy, and it dries to a semi-matte finish.

ESSENCE STAYS NO MATTER WHAT WATERPROOF EYELINER PEN IN ACTION

The pen imparts the product effortlessly and fluidly as you line your eyes-no drag and no streaky application. However, it has a tendency to smudge on the upper lid, especially if you have hooded and oily lids. For girls with this eye shape and skin type, it's best used with a tough eye primer.

It didn't stay smudge- proof, but the color didn't fade nor streak on my under eyes-it somewhat stays true to its name because it doesn't come off easily, not even with my Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil. I'd have to spend around a minute or two rubbing it off from eyes gently and continuously. I would have to give credit to its waterproof powers: Used this one time during swimming and it didn't smudge!

I wouldn't really recommend it to girls with hooded and oily lids because that would mean you'd have to spend more by purchasing an industrious eye primer. Methinks the formulation of this product will work best on girls with deep set eyes and creases, and normal skin around the eye area.

  1. Nice review.
I had eyeliner pen by Essence, but different model and I was not very satisfied. This one looks more pigmented and better quality. Hope they improved pens ;)

  3. For its price, it's not bad especially because I'm still learning to line my eyes. Thanks for the review!

  4. The bluish tint makes it look very permanent-marker looking, parang pentel pen.

  5. I really like Essence cosmetics. They're quite affordable and seeing that will do well for those who doesn't have oily lids, it'll be a good, cheaper alternative to KPalette/Clio. :)

    Sincere: Yup! Super affordable! :D

Eloise: Same here. But this works as an emergency eyeliner though, when I run out of k-palette. :D

Rae: Haha! Never thought of that, but now that you've mentioned it, it's so true. :D

Yette: Yup, perfect for non- oily lids. For oily lids, best to go for k-palette. :D

Kris: Yup! :) It comes in different types too so you might wanna check them out as well. :)

BrownOso: Go dear! Let me know how it works for you! :D
