Review: Shu Uemura Poreaser UV Underbase SPF 30 (OB For Shu Uemura Collection)

Here's a review on Shu Uemura Poreaser UV Underbase

Price: Around P2,200.00 (Almost the same price as the classic UV Underbase variants)
Bought From: Free
Other Locations: Available in all Shu Uemura boutiques and counters in leading malls

THE VERDICT:

My most favorite makeup primer on earth, Shu Uemura UV Underbase has just released the newest member of the family: Poreraser. It debuted along with the OB for Shu Uemura collection last March. Poreraser promises to even out the skin surface by blurring the appearance of pores and reduce redness.

SHU UEMURA PORERASER UV UNDERBASE  IN DETAIL

Basically, it has all the benefits of the other UV Underbases: SPF 30, moisturizing mousse consistency, sweet floral scent, and it makes makeup last all day. If compared with my Brightening UV Underbase, Poreraser dries to a semi- matte finish whereas the former dries to a dewy finish.

It only comes in one color, Beige.

Beige has a strong yellow undertone, and it's good to use if you want to brighten any dull complexion. This shade is also the best shade to pick if you don't have any major skin problem to deal with, aside from slight redness and dark marks or if you just want a more uniform foundation look. It sets quickly and into a soft powdery finish.

SHU UEMURA PORERASER UV UNDERBASE  IN ACTION

On Pores:

Pores-check. I have semi- enlarged pores-they're not that visible or grave to worry about, although it would be nice if they would leave my face completely! Also, keep an eye on that pimple right under my under eye and the red spot on my nose.

It does minimize the appearance of pores, although it can't conceal everything completely. I like it this way because I feel that my pores can still breathe. Oh, and that pimple under my under eye and the red spot on my nose? Notice that their redness was somehow minimized too. :)

TIP: If you need more pore coverage on the nose area, do spot application with Poreraser-no need to cover your entire face with it!

Bare Face

One layer of Poreraser

It kinda' reduces dark marks too! However, it yields a strong white cast if I apply more than one layer-good thing one layer would usually suffice for me. Aside from its pore- reducing, redness- calming effect, it also gives my skin a faint, healthy glow.

Again, staying power is superb and it can control oil longer than the other UV Underbases I have. That said, it's a wonder product for those with combination to oily skin types, (Me!) and its flexible, breathable texture will never clog pores and trap dirt and excess oil underneath.

  2. I have a pore problem for the longest time. I worry about pores even more than I do about blemishes. Is there an alternative for this product for dry skin naman Ms M?

  7. Anjie: Hi Anjie and welcome to my blog! oh, sorry, I haven't tried that one yet so I can't make a comparison. All I can say is that it's very good on oily skin. :)

Eloise: I use Porefessional only on the same area too-I find it too thick if used all over. :)

Ari: I already have one-about to try it. :)

Rizza: Hmmm...I really can't say-best to do is to test it on the counter! :)

Kris: From the Shu Uemura line, yes: You can go for Tsuya UV Underbase or the regular UV Underbases (Beige, Pink/Purple, Ochre)

Purple: Hello! I guess, or maybe your skin's having those days wherein it doesn't cooperate with you-I have those too. :)

  8. Hello! Since this is not a product you would normally just pick up and buy on a whim (because of the price), do you think a can will last a long time with you?

Would you say with once-daily use, that this would last for a year or more? (Sorry I'm super obsessed with the concept but aerated products always run out quickly)

  9. Anonymous: Hello! With Shu's UV Underbases, you don't need a lot, thus one can will last for at least a year or more, but I think if it's over a year already, quality may deteriorate. Aerated products evaporate quickly if it's left uncapped for a long time always. :)
