Mary Kay One Woman Can Diaries 1: Welcome to Hong Kong!

In this post, I told you guys that I was chosen as a judge for Mary Kay Philippines' One Woman Can Preliminary Pageant. Last August, I was flown to Hong Kong together with Shen Gee of Shen's Addiction and Ning Hilario of MEG Magazine for the culmination of the One Woman Can pageant for the Asia-Pacific region. This and my next two posts will serve as your backstage pass to Mary Kay's biggest event for this year!

We stayed at Hong Kong island, particularly at Causeway Bay area, one of Hong Kong's top shopping spots.

Our hotel was called Lanson Place, which is located very near the main shopping district.

Lanson Place is a small luxury hotel with boutique- style rooms. I got my own room by the way. :)

The living room/work area. It's so cute and can perfectly accommodate 1-2 people.

My welcoming gifts from Mary Kay.

Ooohh. Mary Kay's Satin Hands set. It was my first time to see a targeted skin care line for hands. :)

Our first day was a pretty relaxed day. The girls were briefed by Mary Kay on the itineraries for the 4- day Hong Kong stay, while me, Shen, Ning, and the rest of the Blogger and Press delegates from the participating countries had a pampering manicure-pedicure session and of course, some time for shopping.

The main event for our first day was the welcoming dinner held in Parkview, a posh condo/apartelle area in Causeway Bay where some of the richest personalities in Hong Kong reside.

Here are some of the delegates from the other countries:

Singapore

Malaysia

The other participating countries are Australia, Taiwan, Korea, and Hong Kong.

And here are our pretty candidates from the Philippines! From left to right, we have Deniece Cornejo with her partner consultant Maria Fe Bermudez from Manila, partner consultant Marild Aperocho with her model Fatima Saquilabon from Koronadal City, South Cotabato, and Arianne Buenviaje with her partner consultant Vanessa Ligan from Davao City.

It was a star- studded event as Mary Kay executives and celebrity judges have graced the welcoming dinner. I was in a table with Dominic Lau, E! Asia news anchor and Asia's Ryan Seacrest. Such a funny, down-to-earth, and sweet guy! Here's me and Dom striking a pose before calling it a night!

The next day was a day filled with training and preparations for the pageant day. In the next post, you'll get to know more about the celebrity judges and the professional training our Filipina candidates went through. See you tomorrow! :)
