THE VERDICT:

I confess: I have this fantasy of going outdoors naked. Oh, it's not what you think-I mean, going outdoors in naked skin. :D Don't wanna be accused as an exhibitionist and land in jail!

But here's the naked truth-my skin is not that of Anne Curtis or any other celebrity so I really need the help of makeup on a daily basis especially foundation. I've always been the full coverage type of gal, but I still keep a handful of light foundations for good skin days and summer. Since I'm blabbering about my skin already, might as well update everyone on its current status: Thanks to my newly- curated set of skin care products, it's finally doing pretty well at this point. The marks are exceptionally lighter now, thus I can skip facial concealers. My 2- year battle with post- acne marks is seeing its final days-I can feel it! I'll write about my new skin care routine soon.

Anyway, I think I can materialize this fantasy of mine in the near future if I persist with my meticulous skin care routine, but for now, I'll settle with the next best thing to naked and that is Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation.

REVLON NEARLY NAKED FOUNDATION IN DETAIL

If I'm not mistaken, this is Revlon's lightest foundation to date in terms of consistency and coverage. As the name implies, Nearly Naked delivers a light coat of foundation so no one will know that you're actually wearing one.

Ingredients

I have found my favorite Revlon foundation in this product. More about it after the break!

The bottle is made from glass yet doesn't feel thin-it actually feels pretty sturdy to me! It has a screw top cap and no dispenser. Product's pretty runny and I always end up pouring out so much as the opening of the bottle is pretty huge.

Top: Medium Beige
Bottom: Warm Beige

Between the two, Warm Beige suits me best-Medium Beige will suit gals with NC35 and NC40 shade matches. The major reason why this is my particular favorite amongst all of Revlon's base products is because it's the only one that's predominantly yellow- toned-Have had no luck finding a shade in their foundation items that somehow suits me until Nearly Naked came along.

Consistency is watery, soft and very blendable, and texture is smooth and ultra light. I sometimes feel that it has this cooling effect to the skin that's why I find myself using it frequently. It's virtually unscented, coverage is light to medium, and finish is matte/dewy.

REVLON NEARLY NAKED FOUNDATION IN ACTION

Bare skin + Estēe Lauder Double Wear Concealer on my under eyes and spots

Two layers of Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in Warm Beige

I love how it looks seamless on my skin! It melts in right away and even though overall finish is light, pigmentation is very good: it can magically cover redness, shadowy marks, light spots, uneven skin tone, although needs a lil' help from concealers on dark to very dark discolorations. It's not the least bit sticky, thus it's very favorable for tropical areas.

Regarding the downsides, I've read reviews saying that it can somewhat highlight dry areas-haven't experienced that though, but it's good that you know. Just like all light foundations, it's not that effective in concealing lines and 3D skin problems-well if it does, it won't be 'Nearly Naked' anymore, right?

How's the staying power? Pretty good. It last for around 5 hours before T-Zone gets a lil' oily, but product stays intact. It has a complementing Nearly Naked pressed powder which I will review separately.

Nearly Naked is a very nice skin unifier and it just enhances bare skin: makes it look smoother, bright, and fine. It's comparable to L'Oreal's Lucent Magique Foundation, but this one is cheaper and coverage is a little better. Suits oily, combination and normal skin types, but dry- skinned gals should moisturize properly beforehand. I'm using it almost everyday! :)

  1. Thanks for the review, Martha! Now I think I'm going to give this a second try. I use Revlon Colorstay but find the coverage too heavy at times. I swatched Nearly Naked before but it seemed to highlight bumps on my forehead (I was having breakouts then). But now that it's clearer I might try it again. :)

  8. i like the light coverage. One thing I just dont like though, the packaging, i hope it has a spatula along with the cap so it is not messy to use and much easier to get the product from the bottle. Overall, i like to try this foundation since you gave it a high rating, this might work for my skin as well :)

  9. Not sure which one is applicable to me, I guess I need to do an actual swatch to know which one is compatible with my skintone.
Anyways, Revlon is still on sale (yehey! cause I just bought a few makeups there. I was actually going back for the photoready pressed powder which I was not able to purchase last time)
Would also checked if it doesn't feel heavy.. I easily get irritated at work, I seldom apply foundations because I tend to rub them off my forehead when I am a little stressed.. hehehe

  10. Zaya: Hey Zaya! Glad you liked it. :) Actually, it can't really conceal bumps, but I like how it would give me nicer- looking skin. :)

Winnie: Read somewhere that you prefer light bases, so I think this is the Revlon foundation that will suit you-the others have medium to full coverage already. :)

Leilani: Yeah, agree with the spatula. They could at least include a pump next time!

Katrina: Glad you liked this post. :)

Aura: Yup, because it's Revlon's entry- level foundation. :) Thanks for visiting too.

Issa: Hi Issa! Yeah, that's the thing. Almost all of Revlon's foundations are pink-toned. Glad that Nearly Naked is yellow- toned!

Yanyan: Hi and welcome to my blog! Nope, I use a traditional foundation brush with it. :) I always forget that I have foundation on my fingers so I end up staining my clothes or my bed so I started using brushes with foundation. :)

    Rhain: Yes it is! :D

Jenny: Yup! Colorstay is medium to full, I believe :)

  11. I've been using this for almost a year now and I must say that I like it a lot. About the review that says it highlights dry areas, I'd have to disagree on that. I have mild psoriasis (so i have dry patches) but the foundation sorts of moisturizes the skin, thus it looks less dry. I recommend it esp if you dnt really need heavy coverage and if you're not in the mood for matte. 😊 just dnt forget to pat on setting powder after
