THE VERDICT:

If I could recommend one pencil liner that stays true to its waterproof claim, it would be Eye Of Horus. I've tried so many "waterproof" eyeliners, but nothing delivers quite like this one. If Cleopatra were living today, I could imagine her hoarding these! This ultra gentle, caring eyeliner is excellent for tight lining, eye lining, and lining the waterlines.

EYE OF HORUS EYE PENCILS IN DETAIL

Eye Of Horus is a proud Australian brand built around one woman's love for eye liners. All the liners are Paraben and Cruelty- Free, and safe for sensitive eyes. It's has skin- caring benefits because the liners are laced with Moringa Oil to nourish the lashes and lids.

The roster includes 9 shades from the basics to jewel- toned ones.

Ingredients

I'll be swatching 'em for you after the cut!

Each pencil comes with their very own smudger tip so you can soften the lines as you please or smudge 'em all over your lid for a an eyeshadow effect.

Swatchfest ahead!

Natural Smokey- deep black
Bronze Amulet- frosted bronze-brown
Charcoal Obsidian- steel gray with silver shimmer
Jewel Amethyst (New shade)- violet with gold shimmer
Lazuli Blue (New shade)- frosted periwinkle blue with blue shimmer
Emerald Tabula (New shade)- matte emerald green

The liners have a super soft, kohl- like texture-they're so gentle that your eyes won't get watery or irritated as you glide 'em on your lids. Pigmentation is heavy. The shimmery ones are very friendly to the eyes too because the shimmers stay put within the creamy liner and they don't fall inside your eyes. These babies are superbly waterproof, but come off quickly with makeup remover.

EYE OF HORUS EYE PENCILS IN ACTION

Wearing some of my favorites below:

Natural Smokey

It's the good ol' black liner! My only issue is the pencils are not super fine and I always end up getting thick lines. Best thing to do is to sharpen the pencil until you get a finer tip, or scrape the sides manually to produce a needle- like tip.

Natural Smokey on my waterline

Nothing says sexy best than lined waterlines! To date, this is the most excellent liner for the waterline (at least to me and along with Mememe's Pencil Liner) because it stays put for a good three to four hours (depending on how watery my eyes are) and it fades without smudging on my under eyes!

Jewel Amethyst

If blue liner brightens up fair skin tone, I believe violet/purple does that to warm skin tones! ;)

Emerald Tabula

I've always been a fan of dark green liner because it gives my tan skin a discreet glow. :) I think I'll be wearing this shade all summer long!

I did the water test on these babies and even rubbed the hand swatch vigorously with a wet wipe and amazingly, the liners DID.NOT.BUDGE. It doesn't smear on my lids even if it's super oily already, and it can survive a tough workout! Just remember to apply one layer and allow the product to dry up for a minute or two before blinking your eyes (or adding another layer) to give it some time to settle. Also, since the liners are super creamy, don't leave it in a very hot place. Otherwise, it will melt. It's a little pricey for an eye liner, but it works marvelously and is at par with some of the more expensive eyeliners out there that do the same thing. If you're a fan of pencil eyeliners, you shouldn't be missing out on Eye Of Horus!

  1. i love smudge-proof eyeliners... having monolids makes it so hard to find the perfect eyeliner for me... everything smudges and transfers on the lid... :( would love to test out a lot of products like the EOH, but i really need to finish up the liners i have at the moment...

  3. I'm actually a hugr fan of liners, well besides brow products. I love the playful colors which reminds me of the music video of Katy Perry, dark horse. I have seen this, the thing is because I'm stingy, I end up not purchasing any. Maybe the smudger is for a post duty look!

  5. Cat: I know what you feel! I take forever to finish eyeliners too. I just have so much that I end up giving away most of what I have. :p

  6. I love EOH liner, I have one in black and it's super easy to use. My only issue with this liner is medyo maarte sya sa sharpener. I sharpened mine using Face Shop's liner sharpener and nawala yung moist-like feel nya so ang hirap na nya gamitin. I think you need to buy the EOH sharpener too, to maintain its quality.. :/

  8. I love eye liners and I haven't tried any eye of horus products its really pricey but I read a lot of good reviews about it. and to be honesty I haven't use any color aside from black for an eyeliner maybe its time to experiment on other colors this summer!

I'm using the Avon Glimerstick eye liner in blackest black and it provides what I need in a eye liner aside from its affordable hahaha but recently I started using the pixy eye liner its easy to apply and so far so good I have no complains about it hehe!

  11. Hi, i have some silly question here.. Do you think this eyeliner can be used as an eyebrow pencil? If its a smudge proof liner do you think it can perform also as an eyebrow. I love eyebrow that can last for long hours.

  12. before i don't like using eye liners coz it really smudges under my eye area. and it is so hard to remove. hehehe but good thing waterproof eyeliners are invented nowand there's alot of shades to choose from. noon kasi black brown and white lang... this is perfect for summer days..

  13. cincincin: I'm afraid not. They're too pigmented, unless you're willing to work them, but it can be too tedious!

Aiko; That's true! Colored liners are great alternatives to eyeshadows, if you're looking forward to adding a pop of color to your eyes minus the effort!
