THE VERDICT:

Do you own or have you ever used baked eyeshadows? If you do, you'll realize that they're pretty chalky and pigmentation is pretty light if used dry, and they begin to work decently if used with water. I dislike using water on my powder products for hygiene purposes and this is why I'm currently loving MAC's new Mineralize Eyeshadow Quad X4. These baked shadows have the nicest pigmentation I've seen and not in the least chalky!

MAC MINERALIZE EYESHADOW X4 IN A MEDLEY OF MAUVES IN DETAIL

The Mineralize line isn't exactly mineral makeup, but rather traditional makeup infused with lots of beneficial minerals for the skin. According to MAC, this particular product contains the unique Mineral- Rich Yeast extract, a blend of 77 skin nourishing minerals. It comes in six color combinations. A Medley Of Mauves is a purple-pink palette.

Packaging is light, albeit a little bulky and reminds me of an all too familiar best- selling MAC product. Can you guess what it is? :)

Swatches after the break!

This product comes with pre-selected eyeshadow shades and even if I prefer picking my own shades, I like what MAC did in here. It's operfect for those who just want to pick up an eyeshadow palette with very nice and very wearable colors!

1- icy pink-lilac
2- frosted violet
3- frosted deep eggplant
4- frosted dark brown with a purple undertone

Just look at that color payoff! Take note, I didn't use water on the swatches! Pigmentation is medium to heavy and despite the loose, powdery texture, it clings so well onto brushes. I would say that it would be lovely if MAC had included a matte shadow here, but I realized that I already have a ton of mattes to last me a lifetime so I'm pretty contented now with the frosty combination! The shadows contain non-irritating micro shimmers and you can dust 'em off easily if you get some fallout on your cheeks or under eyes as they don't stick! In case you want dramatic coverage, just wet your brush with water. I prefer using a setting spray to double seal the product on my lids. :)

A Medley of Mauves is a neutral alternative to browns-you can wear it during daytime, definitely, and the purple glow will enhance warm skin. The shimmery, frosted finish gives eyes a nice glow too. On fair skin tone, it will give eyes an elegant pop of color. These shadows don't have good staying power though as texture is pretty loose so you need to wear it with an eye primer. You can layer it on and it will still look natural because I've noticed that it has a 'like skin' finish, and I've also observed that texture's perfect for creating gradation effects on the lids. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it because it is a no- fuss mineral eyeshadow palette! :)

  1. Just imagine what it'll look like with water or fix plus or primer! The colors are stunning, I love the combination you did here, I hope there'll be an EOTD for that look. I miss seeing EOTDs.. ;)
