THE VERDICT:

Lightbulb, although it makes skin oddly yellow or orange, is my favorite light because it instantly makes you look ultra fresh and flawless. It just makes your skin look glowing, even, and soft- looking, plus it tames down any skin boo-boo you have. I guess this thing has inspired Shu Uemura to create their newest foundation called The Lightbulb and it somewhat gives you these effects!

SHU UEMURA THE LIGHTBULB FOUNDATION IN 714 MODERATE BEIGE IN DETAIL

Shu Uemura said that this is a long- wearing, glow- enhancing, full coverage foundation. It features the multi- oil complex that moisturizes skin for up to 12 hours and imparts its lightbulb- like effect on the skin.

It comes in a sleek, luxe glass bottle with a very pump dispenser that goes up and down smoothly, thus giving you more control over the amount of product that comes out of it.

More about this illuminating product after the break!

714 Moderate Beige, I believe, is not available in all countries because I didn't see it as part of the selection in Shu Uemura USA's website. It is a medium light beige shade with yellow undertones-it is light for me and is comparable to MAC NC40, but a little bronzing tames down the white cast for a little. I wouldn't use it though during night time events because the white cast shows in photos.

Consistency is a lil' watery, but not oily even if it has oil as an ingredient. I don't really think it's full coverage, but rather light to medium-at least it has very good pigmentation that it can unify the skin tone effectively and hide light to heavy discolorations, but not face bumps because texture is a lil' sheer. It spreads out easily across the skin and you don't need to buff it in too much because it has a melting consistency. It is unscented too.

SHU UEMURA THE LIGHTBULB FOUNDATION IN 714 MODERATE BEIGE IN ACTION

Bare face

With Zero Kuma Concealer + two layers of the foundation

I didn't use concealer on my discolorations in here and just layered the foundation twice instead, and it amazingly covered 'em up! Finish is dewy and it doesn't feel sticky or greasy!

It keeps my skin soft and moisturized and coverage lasts the whole day, but it doesn't control oiliness in my opinion as I have to blot my T-Zone for around 2 to 3 times during wear, depending on the weather. It doesn't aggravate oiliness though, but I don't know if this is gonna be the same with extremely oily skin types! Love that this foundation gives me very good coverage, but still manages to look light and skin- like. It's best for those days when I don't want to look too made up, but without sacrificing that much- needed coverage to hide my marks. The multi- oil complex will be very favorable for those with dry skin and anyone who wants extra moisture especially this cold season. Shu Uemura actually has pretty good foundations and if you've been meaning to check 'em out, please do! :)

  1. It really covered the discoloration and looks flawless on you Ms.M :) It looks sticky though, but good thing it's not.

  2. I love the effect of the light from the lightbulb on my skin. If only I can bring an invisible lightbulb to make my skin glowing, I will. This foundation is a gift from heaven, I think. Even if I still haven't tried this. I will save up for this! Such a great investment :)
