THE VERDICT:

This product came just in time when I ran out of Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion so I thought of using it in the meantime until I visit the mall to grab the my favorite from Mario Badescu. It turned out that this is pretty good so I delayed my Mario Badescu purchase for a while and until now, I'm still using this product and I'm still quite happy with it!

POND'S OVERNIGHT PIMPLE CARE GEL IN DETAIL

This product is the newest addition to Pond's Acne Care range. It's formulated with Glycolic Acid and Salicylic Acid to treat pimples and minimize inflammation and redness overnight: Glycolic Acid delivers a micro exfoliating effect that takes away dead skin cell build- up on top of the affected part of the skin so that Salicylic Acid can penetrate and target pimples, redness, and inflammation.

More about this effective and affordable pimple gel after the break!

For a drugstore pimple treatment, it sure does look a little more luxe than what one would normally expect from a drugstore brand, plus size is pretty generous too. It comes with a separate cap on top of its sealable pump. Cool. :D

POND'S OVERNIGHT PIMPLE CARE GEL IN ACTION

Product is a transparent gel with a slight bluish hue. It has this natural acid- like smell (just because it has Glycolic and Salicylic Acid) and is pretty concentrated that you wouldn't need to take so much to cover a large area of your skin. It imparts a mild stinging sensation in the beginning, most especially on zits with the protruding eye, although it goes away after a few seconds. This product takes a while to settle and feels a little sticky in the beginning though.

It works really well in drying up that unsightly white eye on mature zits: I tried it on mine and the next day, the eye was almost dry and ready to be plucked out. It can also reduce inflammation and sensitivity on baby zits, especially those that are well on their way to maturity in a matter of days, but if your skin is responsive enough, this can help stop them at their course. On Cystic Zits, however, it can only minimize sensitivity, but not heal 'em completely as such zits need to be plucked out professionally!

The only downside of this product is it can make my skin patchy and flaky because of Glycolic Acid so I make sure to moisturize properly whenever I am using it. Overall, I'm very happy with this product because thankfully, I have zits that it can heal quickly and it's so affordable! :) Have you tried this product already? Let me know how you like it! :D

  1. I haven't seen this in Watson's Farmer's Plaza. But I can attest that every Pond's product that I've tried are effective. I've used their facial creams, scrubs, foams, etc and they are all effective and aren't harsh on my skin. Plus, they are all affordable! :) For zits, I would definitely try this one. Thanks for featuring this

  4. I'm really not a fan of Pimple treatment products since I have not experience major major pimple problems. I've experience tiny ones but it disappears before I will try to treat them. This product may not be applicable to me but Ponds will always be my skin's best friend.. I'm "hiyang" with them!

  5. Abegaill: You're welcome! :)

Melanie: Great to hear that! :) Aside from this product, I love Pond's facial wash too. :)

Eddielli: Go ahead dear! Mura lang naman sya and that's why I love it! :)

Quacker: Hi there and welcome to my blog! Great question. :)

Pond's- has salicylic acid, therefore I think this one is more tolerable as SA is proven safe and effective.

Belo- Bee Venom is something new and even if it has been tested, I don't think it can be readily used by those with the most sensitive skin.

Pond's- has a micro exfoliating effect on the skin due to glycolic acid and it gets rid of the dry area around a pimple, although it can be a bit drying too.

Belo- no micro exfoliating effect, but doesn't dry out the skin.
