THE VERDICT:

I've had a couple of extractions in the past few months and I could attest that it really leaves your face battered. Extraction involves pricking or even creating tiny lesions on the skin to get those blackheads, whiteheads, and zits out, and afterwards, my face feels really swollen and tender, and the throbbing pain on the parts where extraction had occurred could last for up to three days. 'Beauty has a price' always rings true for me whenever I get a facial. :P

Last month, I had a facial and again, I was left with a battered face. While I was going through my normal skin care routine, Bioderma's Cicabio Cream caught my eye and something in me urged me to reach for it and examine the product, and I read that it has Antalgicine, an ingredient with analgesic effects. I just experimented with it and applied it all over my face since it's a moisturizer and I'm sooo glad I did because this product is a healer!

This product only comes in a 40ml, squeeze tube-it's so convenient, handy, and I like that it lets me control the amount of product I take. I sometimes pop this in my bag and take it with me everyday because it's so versatile as it's an antibacterial, reparative, and moisturizing product.

BIODERMA CICABIO SOOTHING REPAIRING CREAM IN ACTION

This moisturizer has a weird, gray color and it's something that you'll think twice about putting on your face just because it's not white, the standard color of moisturizers that we're all used to. Don't worry, it's safe to be used on the face. It is unscented and even though it's a lil' creamy, it feels so light on the skin and gets absorbed pretty quickly-I can also use this underneath foundation and on a very hot day without worrying about turning into an oily mess around midday.

The primary reason why I love, love, love this product is it did wonders to my face after extraction: I applied it all over my face just like a regular moisturizer and the next day, the extracted parts were not throbbing and sensitive anymore, plus the lesions were almost dry and healed (Thank you, Antalgicine!) On top of that, my face looks so balanced and feels well- moisturized whenever I use this product.

Last week, I got a tiny scratch caused by my Siamese Kitty in one of our playtime sessions-I applied a layer of this product on the scratch and it healed after just a few hours. Since then, I've been using this product on minor wounds because it yields an invisible film, does not sting, and moisturizes the affected part to boot, thus preventing it from turning scaly and rough as it dries up, although I wouldn't recommend this as a treatment to surgical wounds or any major wounds that you have-please consult with your doctor for that!

If you take facials and extractions regularly, I think Bioderma Cicabio Cream will help you immensely in your healing process. If you're prone to getting small skin cuts due to whatever factor or by some form of daily carelessness, this product will be your best friend. If you're prone to accidentally popping a zit, a layer of this product will form a protective barrier on top of it and Antalgicine might help kill Acne- causing bacteria too. This is the first- ever Bioderma I have tried and I am so impressed, and for sure, I shall repurchase!

  1. I haven't tried any Bioderma products as they are not so available for the mean time here in the Philippines. I'm eyeing on the makeup remover once it's out in Watsons. And upon reading this review, I think I might get this one as well. I agree that facials can really batter the face. When I got my first facial I was like, I'm not doing this anymore. But I broke my word. Even if it hurts, I still go for a facial. :/ Anyway, thank you for sharing about this miracle cream. :) I'm not putting anything pa naman after my facial kasi I thought it might infect my face.

  2. I went in spa for extraction too, but I don't rarely go, it's only when my black heads is bothering me. Haven't tried any restorative products yet. This is a must check product after your 5/5 rate.

  3. I have never tried getting a facial even if I get vouchers/coupons for free sessions as I'm really scared of having other people prick my face and it might leave undesirable results. I also heard that once you get a facial, it would be a must to get one regularly and I'm not sure if I have the time (and budget) to do so! However, when I got my skin checked, it seemed that I needed to undergo one since I have impurities all over my face (some I don't even notice!).

Thanks to this 5/5 review, I'm kinda a little less scared of the aftermath of a facial. Do you have something to lessen the pain too? Hahahaha. :)

  5. Itsmefati: Awww, thanks! I've been around for quite some time now, you know, and it took me a while before I started receiving products. :D Anyway, the nice thing about Bioderma is all their products are really tried and tested not only by them, but by their loyalists too! I love this cream to bits!

Mica: This cream helps soothe my face a after a facial! Now regarding facials, I only take it when I really, really, really need it and I will recommend the same to you. :)

Teri: Yes it is! It's a wonderful product! :)

Abegaill: Me, I put stuff on my face a few hours after undergoing a facial because it's the time when the pores are open and the skin is starting to heal, meaning the products you apply will get absorbed and affect your skin better. :)
