THE VERDICT:

I mentioned in one of my posts that I've been overdosing on Hydrating products for the past few months and for the facial mask, this has been my go-to: Glamglow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment. Glamglow is a backstage remedy of Hollywood celebrities because it promises these 'just had a facial' and 'a good night's sleep' effects right after usage, which are pretty much the things they need before facing a crowd. Well, I don't have to face so much people on a daily basis as I'm in front of my computer most of the time, but I do appreciate that instant smooth, hydrating, and plumping effect that I get from this product!

GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD HYDRATING TREATMENT IN DETAIL

ThirstyMud is the newest from Glamglow-it's a restorative, calming treatment that replenishes your skin with hydrating ingredients and promises to address your short and long- term hydration needs. It features the following proprietary skin care technologies: Dewdration to lock in moisture within the skin, Hydrapack that instantly leaves skin with a smooth, silky, supple feel, and Greenergy to energize the skin, giving it a dewy glow. Glamglow's products are formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, and Phthalates.

Yes, I know, Glamglow. LOL.

More about this super hydrating mask after the break!

Product comes in a luxe, gift- worthy packaging-after all, it's almost 4 thousand pesos, but given the price, I don't understand why it doesn't come with a spatula for hygienic usage. :/

Actual product comes in an acrylic jar with a sea blue hue-I love the color because it makes the product easy to spot in my dresser!

ThirstyMud is a sheer, gel- like type of mask, which is reminiscent of the Sleeping Pack of Korean brands. It has a Coconut-y scent that I truly enjoy and it's very concentrated so a little goes a long way-one jar can last for up to 6 months or more, depending on the frequency of usage.

GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD HYDRATING TREATMENT IN ACTION

One layer of ThirstyMud

This product can be left on the skin for 15 minutes for a quick hydration boost or overnight for complete repair, whichever way you like it. Personally, I prefer leaving it on for 15 minutes then rinsing it off afterwards because it takes a while to settle unlike Laneige Water Sleeping Pack EX (which is Glamglow's closest counterpart in my opinion)-I can't afford to lose sleep over a beauty product and most of all, I don't want to wake up to stained pillow cases the next day!

ThirstyMud leaves a slight tingling sensation in the beginning and then it fades after two to three minutes- the tingling sensation is very relaxing and soothing, unlike the irritating, tingling sensation I get from Glamglow's Tingling and Exfoliating Mud Mask.

As for the immediate effects, this product gives me really soft, smooth, and fresh- looking skin the moment I wash it off, and my face feels pillowy and bouncy, like a balloon filled with water. However, it's a little tough to rinse out so you'd have to use a foaming facial cleanser to remove it from your skin completely. Oh, this product leaves my skin with a protective, hydrating barrier and it kinda' protects my skin from drying facial cleansers. :)

2 months of consistently using Glamglow at two times per week; My face with face powder with only

I just woke up one day and noticed that my skin's looking healthy, vibrant and quenched! I think this product has boosted my current Hydration- heavy skin care routine and helped me restore my skin's lost glory, although I cannot credit everything to Glamglow because I've been using it along with other pretty good skin care products too! I also noticed that I haven't been getting dry patches on my face and my  skin doesn't get super oily anymore ever since I started using this product!

Since I mentioned that the closest counterpart of this product is Laneige Water Sleeping Pack EX, might as well compare the two:

Laneige- cheaper, comes in a much bigger jar
Glamglow- expensive, comes in a much smaller jar

Laneige- settles on the skin quickly
Glamglow- takes around 10 minutes to settle on the skin

Laneige- took around 5-6 months for me to say that it has improved the hydration levels in my skin
Glamglow- took only 2 months for it to improve the hydration levels in my skin

My only qualm is this product is VERY expensive for a mask that has a lot of dupes in Korean brands, in terms of consistency, use, and texture-well at least this product works instantaneously, but Glamglow, can we at least lower the price or beef up the size to justify the cost? It's not even hypoallergenic.

Nonetheless, I love how super hydrating this product is and I think I will buy it again-I even like this product better than Glamglow Tingling and Exfoliating Mud Mask. This product works for any skin type, especially for those with very dry and oily skin.

  2. I've tried this once during the BDJ Fair and I can say that it's super effective. I'm really really saving up for this as this is kinda pricey. :/ It has a cooling effect and really clears up dirt. This product is super amazing. No wonder it is pricey. :)

  3. I have tried GlamGlow during the BDJ Fair and I really really love it! If it weren't too pricey and they have smaller sizes, I would definitely buy it. I love its minty feeling. It really made my nose dirt-free. Haha. I'll really save up for it.

  5. My skin decided to hate me and be a lot dryer recently. I do think that there are a lot cheaper finds out there that promises the same effects. Wouldn't mind if the effect may take longer versus this one which only took you 2 months to see the effect. But It's nice that this product is formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, and Phthalates. Being a part time packaging designer, I can't help but comment on how I absolutely love the color of its packaging!

  6. I miss using Glamglow but it's very expensive for me. What makes it different is there's really a huge difference when you use their product compared to other brands. One layer doesn't show hmmm and it was even a mud. I miss the tingling sensation it gives though.

  8. BrownOso: Yep. Haha!

Teri: If I'll buy Glamglow again, it would be this because I found the stinging sensation in the mud variant quite uncomfortable.

Hanna and abegaill: I hope we'll see trial sizes soon!

Cath: Part-time packaging designer? That sounds like a cool job. :) Thanks for sharing your insight, btw. :)

  9. Pretty expensive it is! I'm dying to try mud masks. I just love their benefits to the skin. I just want it step by step. Starting from the most affordable. But good quality. :) Hoping to try one one of these days. ;)
