THE VERDICT:

Burt's Bees, to me, has some of the most sensorial beauty products ever, products that closely resemble the elements of and bring you closer to Mother Earth like their new Citrus Facial Scrub: It's an amalgam of nature's juiciest and most emollient ingredients that renew your skin. It also reminds me of Pumpkin Pie due to the smell and also, Muscovado sugar due to the texture! :D

BURT'S BEES CITRUS FACIAL SCRUB IN DETAIL

This new facial scrub from Burt's Bees polishes skin with ground Almonds, Pecans, and Oats and leaves it dewy and soft with all- natural humectants such as Glycerin and Sweet Almond Oil. It removes makeup and reveals fresh skin.

Ingredients

FYI, Sweet Almond Oil is believed to stimulate circulation and reduce puffiness. ;)

Detailed review of this no-nonsense exfoliant after the cut! ;)

Product comes in a vintage glass jar-just be careful when handling and storing it. The product is like a thick, brown paste-it even looks and feels like dampened Brown Sugar to me!

It's pretty concentrated and needs to be rubbed in between the palms thoroughly to spread it out-a few drops of water will help loosen its pasty consistency too. It has a sweet, earthy smell that's so relaxing and heartwarming, plus it has this unique gritty yet soft texture: It polishes my skin to perfection, but doesn't leave it red and irritated. This scrub washes off easily and leaves my skin feeling dewy and soft. I believe it works for any skin type, but if you've got sensitive skin, conduct a patch test first. Steer clear if you are allergic to nuts because this product contains Almond and Pecan shells.

Citrus Facial Scrub is simple, effective, natural, and gives you just what you need and that is a clean, pure, and healthy- looking complexion.

  1. Mmmm... Almond and pecan scent! I may not snack on nuts so much, but I can't resist their scents. The packaging (box and lid) is nice, though I find the contents a little off-putting at first glance through the glass. On the inside, it reminds me of a graham cracker-based cheesecake crust. :))

  2. It looks yummy! 😍
I like that it's gentle enough for daily use, I learned that some scrubs that have exfoliants properties are good for use twice or thrice a week only. It helps a lot that's it's made by Burt's Bees so it's natural and safe:)
Facial scrubs like this is best followed by light cleanser like physiogel or cetaphil. Makes my face feel so smooth.

  3. It's a bit pricey ha. :) But it looks effective naman. I like Burt's bees products because it suits my skin well. I haven't tried this one though. When I see scrubs of this color, it reminds me of mud masks. :) The color complemented the earthy material in it. As for the smell, I super love citrusy products, wag lang yung sobrang citrus. :) Sakit kasi sa ilong. Cute ng jar! Pwedeng ire-use pag naubos

  8. Nix: Yup, agree on your observations. Hmmm..it depends. I think generally, it will feel like you're scrubbing graham crust on the skin? Hahah. :D

Rhain: Wouldn't say that it's suitable for sensitive skin because it has a couple of allergens. :)

Jackie: Hey there and welcome to my blog! Do let me know how you like/hate their skin care once you tried them! :)

Matromao: Yup, graham crust is the right term, but scent reminds me of orange/banana bread. :D

Abegaill: Yup! I'm thinking of re-using the jar as storage for my trinkets. :)

Josie: Twice to thrice a week is the standard for exfoliation. :) Thanks for sharing your post- scrubbing tips. :)
