Maybelline Fashion Brow Duo Shaper in Dark Brown Review +Swatches

Here's a review on Maybelline Fashion Brow Duo Eyebrow in Dark Brown.

Price: P399.00
Bought From: Free

THE VERDICT:

Maybelline's beginning to change the brow game in the drugstore category with their latest brow makeup collection-I don't know any drugstore brand that offers such an extensive range of brow products! With that, let me present you the new Fashion Brow Duo Shaper, a pencil that enhances and defines your beauty arches. Other drugstore dual- ended brow products normally have a pencil and spoolie, but Maybelline's version comes with two brow products instead. What a good deal, especially for budget queens!

MAYBELLINE FASHION BROW DUO SHAPER IN DARK BROWN IN DETAIL

Create full yet soft brows with this newest from Maybelline. Fashion Brow Duo Shaper features a pencil with a 2mm slim tip for precise definition and silicone powder to give the illusion of thick brows. Locally, the shades we have available are Light Brown and Dark Brown.

The pencil has a very good width and it fits my medium- sized hands snuggly. The photo on the left is the brow powder on a pointy sponge applicator-if you're wondering where to find the brow powder in the packaging, it's in the cap of the applicator. The photo on the right is the precise automatic pencil: It's pretty creamy and glides on smoothly, albeit it needs to be warmed up before usage.

Swatches and detailed review after the break.

I was surprised to find out upon swatching this product that the shades of the pencil and powder are completely different from each other: The pencil has a taupe-gray hue while the powder has a medium brown hue. This color difference, in my opinion, is good and bad at the same time: It's bad because you won't get a uniform color payoff and good because you literally get two, different brow products that you can use on rotation and depending on your mood or the look you're gunning for on a certain day.

Both products have medium to heavy pigmentation and yield a soft matte payoff.

With Brow Powder

The brow powder tends to clump for a bit on hair strands though so apply sparingly and distribute with a spoolie before layering it on. The pencil's fine and I did not encounter any problem with it. Despite my slight issue with the powder, I can still achieve a naturally full brow look with this product.

How's the staying power? It's long- wearing, but not waterproof-it's suitable for daily use and can pretty much withstand a bit of oil and sweat.

Fashion Brow Duo Shaper is pretty good and it's just right for its price-it's a product that I'd consider as a temporary replacement if I leave my HG brow products at home or lose them.

I recommend this product to those who want to sport high fashion, ala-Cara Delevigne brows without spending too much.

  1. I like that they're seemingly starting to go the route of K-Palette with their brow products.

  2. it reminds me of kpalette 2way eyebrow and this one is cheaper.. i see its matte, while kpallete has shimmers on it (very tiny!) and the price, this on is way cheaper than my HG brow liner

i thought magkaibang shade ang na-swatch nyo abobe pero naconfused ako when you said the pencil and powder were different from each other

maybe they could improve this next time =)

  4. Maybelline is recently bringing out new innovative products. And what I like about the brand is they have it affordable so as to cater to people like me who wants to experiment on things yet stay right on the budget. :) As for this brow powder, it looks cool seeing that there are different colors for each end. And for the price, it achieved naman the look that I was expecting to have upon using it. :) Will try out the dark brown shade soon.

  5. I wish you could at least post how to use this or a before and after photo if this thing really works.
for a sponsored post this is truly lazy of you and all your other sponsored post. very very lazy. unsubscribing. You're sugarcoating almost of your sponsored post just because you got them for free. LOL. you can't even answer your reader's comments on your post if they have questions on the products you are endorsing.

I hope you publish this if not you are guilty of all the things i've mentioned. kudos to your VERY LAZY POOR EXCUSE OF A BLOG...yes, i've been a loyal reader of yours but not anymore.

Almost 3 YEARS UNCHANGED BLOG DESIGN (LAZY, LACK OF PASSION). ZERO EFFORT.

YOU ARE BEHIND ON ALMOST EVERYTHING

WAKE UP AND AT LEAST CHANGE YOUR BLOG LAYOUT.

not even bothering to change your header. Your layout is truly outdated!! goes to show how passionate you are to be a beauty blogger (NOT).

You only put up this blog because of all the free stuff you are getting and you have this "following" because of doing giveaways only. You don't have any legit followers LOL.

Remember that and take this as a constructive criticism.

  6. Abegaill: Yep, that's right. Personally, I wish that both brow products have a uniform shade. That's the OC in me haha. :D

Rhain: Same thoughts! I wish that I got uniform shades haha. :D

Matromao: Yup, and we can all practice with Maybelline's brow products first before moving on to similar, more expensive ones. :)

Hanna es: It does not unless you use it to exercising or swimming. You're welcome. :)

Anonymous: Thank you for being a reader for three years. I really appreciate it. It's sad that you decided to go, but for me, that's life, dear. :)

  8. Anonymous: Why does she have to change her layout? If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Besides the wording of your criticism hardly makes it constructive. Taking personal swipes like "lazy poor excuse of a blog" and "you don't have any legit followers", how is that constructive? Not to mention you've been following it for three years, so it seems you were a legit follower for three years, honey.

Besides, it's a makeup blog. Calm the eff down. The world will continue spinning.

  10. Anonymous: read your comment like 4 times and there's absolutely no way it could be taken constructively.

A beauty blogger's passion cannot measured by how often she changes her layout. Ever thought that maybe, just maybe, the reason why she hasn't changed her layout/header is because it's her trademark? If you want to see passion just check out how often she updates this blog and how up-to-date her product reviews are. That would speak volumes about her dedication. Well I would know because her blog is what inspired me to start my own.

So shut the f*ck up. Unsubscribe if you want. I'm pretty sure with the traffic her blog is getting, you won't be missed. :P
