Beauty Trends To Leave in 2015 + Beauty Trends To Try in 2016

As you leave all your baggages behind, you should unload your beauty arsenal and reset your beauty habits by ditching these faux pas beauty styles as well.

See some of the beauty trends that we should probably leave behind in 2015 in favor of the new, posh beauty trends of 2016.

BYE: Messy, high bun
HI: Polished, low bun

I used to be a fan of messy, high buns, until it got misused (Srsly, people? High Buns to formal events? Saw some!); I myself am guilt of this as I wore messy, high buns to a couple of meetings before. Eep! It's so laid-back to the point of being informal if used in the wrong settings. Now I'm finally ditching this I'm-haggard-and-stressed-halp hairstyle behind in favor of a neat low bun that's more neutral in terms of style. Besides, the messy, high bun is not really good to the health of your locks: it forces you to pull your hair up to a ridiculous height, causing stress on the scalp and your hair gets damaged all the time!

BYE: Half Moons
HI: Dotted Half Moons

The Half Moon is pedicure, but a bit limiting because not all people are privileged to have big half moons on their nails while others have none at all. With the dotted half moons, you can create the illusion that you have them with the dotting technique and with a layer of polish beneath; it looks so posh too!

BYE: Deep Berries
HI: Vampy Browns

I will always love berries and it will always be a classic color, but there's no denying that the 90's are back with Brown (specifically dark brown) lipstick heading the pack. Thanks, Kylie!

BYE: Winged Line
HI: Natural Line

This 2016, we are seeing more and more minimalist makeup, hair, and nail polish trends, and the return of the classic line, that line that just goes around your lash lines discreetly. Winged Liner, see you soon.

BYE: Single Masks
HI: Multi-Mask

Single Masks are sooo yesterday; time for an upgrade, not to mention a multitasking one, in your masking routine with Multi-Mask; it's a technique that makes use of multiple masks applied on certain areas on the skin in one use; this technique will address your skin concerns accurately, not to mention it's more time saving than using the masks separately within your week.

Which 2015 beauty trends would you like to leave/bring to 2016? :)

  1. I smile while reading this because I realize that I didn't try almost of 2015 trends just like the messy high buns, half moon and winged line :D anyways, I still bring the deep berries and single mask though and leave the rest behind:) I'm so excited to try the vampy browns shade of lipstick. Glad that natural line is on trend now because I believe that's all what I've got in eyeliner.Multi mask is interesting:)

I'm just starting to love lately doing high bun but not messy. Hihi. I guess I have to leave it behind asap because I don't want my hair to get damage(●__●)
Dotted half moon and multi-mask looks really cool isn't it?
I need to start learning to apply eyeliner while natural line is on trend but I still want to achieve that winged liner. Vampy browns, hope to try you before the 2016 ends(^.^)

    1. I love the winged liner too so I'm not dissing this completely, but I think I'll be sporting the natural line much more frequently just because it's the easiest and most time- saving liner look to do! :D

  10. I've never had a bun ever since I cut my hair short. Haha. Missed that already. And yes, messy buns look so sluggish and informal. I so love the dotted moon I would try it soon. I will still be using deep berries as it really matches my skin tone. Not sure if vampy brown would fit me. As for the winged line, I rarely do that because I find it hard to do on my left eye. :) Lastly, I've never known about the multi-mask until now. It looks so interesting.

  14. Hello Ms. Martha. New reader here! As a makeup fetus (because if there's someone more inexperienced than a beginner, it's me), this is a bit overwhelming. At 23, I never even got to do my first ever winged line, so what a shame it's being eclipsed by a new trend this year :/ Still, I'm feeling positive with what to look forward to this 2016! Will definitely binge-read your articles.

    P.S. I'm a fetus blogger, too! :)
