 THE VERDICT:

In the Philippines, if Christmas starts in September, I believe Summer starts in January, therefore most Filipinas are on the look out for lighter, sheerer bases now; if you're one of them, here's good candidate: Pixi H20 Skintint, a fresh, bouncy, breathable face base.

PIXI H20 SKINTINT IN LIGHT IN DETAIL

A water- based tinted face gel that evens out the skin tone but without the heaviness compared to regular foundation; has English Lavender and Chamomile to soothe skin, Green Tea as antioxidant, and Rose Water to moisturize skin; claims to be hydrating and long- lasting; Paraben- free and fragrance- free. It comes in three shades: Light, Medium, and Dark.

Ingredients

The product comes in an upside down tube; I fancy this type of packaging because it virtually leaves no drop unused!

H20 Skintint, in essence, is a tinted moisturizer and is prolly the bounciest face base I've tried; it has a whipped, creamy consistency yet it's light, almost gel- like, thanks to its water- based formula. Light is a fair beige with a neutral undertone; the only three shades of this product are supposed to fit a wide range of skin tones, which worked just because this product has a sheer finish. Finish is a bit dewy. I can even skip moisturizer if I'm using this product.

PIXI H20 SKINTINT IN LIGHT IN ACTION

Bare skin with L'Oreal True Match Crayon Concealer

Two layers of Skintint

You can build this product to achieve medium coverage, max. It feels nice and cool on the skin, but is a bit streaky because it's sheer, however. Product can even out the skin tone nicely, but doesn't yield superb discoloration and zit- concealing properties; it doesn't have SPF too.

I can't really give a fair assessment of this product because the shade I got is light on me, but I would say that I like the nice, very light, and tropical weather- friendly consistency of this one. The cream-gel texture doesn't feel like it's clogging my skin. Staying power is okay at 3 hours before it fades minimally; it does an okay job at keeping at least half of my usual unwanted sebum supply at bay, but I don't think it's really water-resistant.

If you've got clear skin and you just want to enhance it, this is a great product to use. If you don't have much to cover and would want to wear an almost weightless base whilst still having good coverage, you will like this product. I wish to get one in Medium or Dark!

  1. Pixi products sure have the points for making this genius products. And I love that it's Paraben-free plus the anti oxidants it contains. I will surely check it out especially well, summer is just right around the corner and we all know that our tropical country is not messing around with the heat during summer time.

  2. Knowing that this Pixi skin tint is a water base that makes it lightweight on the skin makes it more interesting. Though I agree that most of this kind of coverage are perfect only with someone with clear skin. Anyways, still this worth to try on for its quality and the finish is natural too just like a second skin:)

  7. It is hot in our country even if it's not summer so it's nice that there are lightweight, water-based tinted face gels such as this. My only problem with this is the price...ooops!
