Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup in Tawny 3W1 Review (With Youtube Video) + Swatch + Price

Here's a review on Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup in Tawny 3W1.

PRICE: P2,400.00
FROM: Estee Lauder, Rustans Alabang Town Center
OTHER LOCATIONS: Available in all Rustans' department stores

THE VERDICT:

Legend has it that Estee Lauder's Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup is one of the best liquid foundations there is: super long- wearing, coverage is da bomb, and looks immaculate in photos; it's apparently a favorite by a lot of brides because of the key features I just mentioned. Naturally, I caved because anything that says full coverage, photogenic, and lasting makes me heart flutter. I've proven to myself that the legend is real: this is indeed one of the best in terms of coverage, look, and staying power. Why didn't I think of buying it earlier!?

ESTEE LAUDER DOUBLE WEAR STAY IN PLACE MAKEUP IN TAWNY 3W1

This classic favorite promises a wear time of 15 hours that claims to last heat, humidity, and nonstop activity without oxidizing. Locally, there are about 15 shades. Has SPF for sun protection.

Product comes in your good ol' liquid foundation bottle; no pump, just a cover; the product tends to spill out of the bottle so don't tilt it fully as you take the product. Bottle is quite travel- friendly, but has a bit of weight since it's glass.

Consistency is a thick yet fluid cream with a light caramel scent. Coverage is medium to heavy. Tawny 3W1 is a medium beige with yellow undertone. I originally got Caramel, but it's half a shade darker than my skin tone and since this product is pretty concentrated, the difference is very obvious in natural light so I just settled for Tawny and correct the color when needed. Despite the rich consistency, it's pretty spreadable, sets almost instantly, and yields a matte finish.

 Bare skin

One layer of the foundation

What's great about this foundation is it lets me skip concealer and correctors due to its wonderful, full coverage. It also looks like another layer of good skin, but I would suggest don't pile it up too much because it may look too 'thick'; at least it doesn't feel cakey and heavy on the skin.

I like using a flat top kabuki brush to work this product onto my skin to evenly distribute the coverage and help break down the pigments a bit to tame the white cast.

The foundation has a matte finish and may tend to look flat matte; to counter this, dust highlighter on your skin, set the foundation lightly with powder, or use a setting powder with a hint of shimmer. Personally, I dust Guerlain Meteorites all over when everything's been said and done to counter the flat matte look.

Staying power is amazeballs; I can go on the whole day with just blotting my t-zone; no need to retouch! I also noticed that the product helps my other makeups stay intact like my blush, highlighter, and contouring powder.

This baby indeed deserves to be called a legend; it lives up to its claim and it's a great foundation for those who live in warm countries, with oily skin, and heavy marks.

Hey! I'm also reviving my Youtube channel so please do check out this video swatch video I made. :)

  2. Wow. I only know Estee Lauder to be a perfume. Pity me! hahahaha. I really don't know a lot about all this stuff as mostly everything was just given to me for free and I don't settle that much on names and brands hahahaha but this is so good the change when added to the face is really noticeable. Thanks for sharing your before and after look. It sheds light and understanding of each product :)

  3. My friend and I attended a make up workshop hosted by Estee Lauder a few months back. They gave us makeovers and my friend got to try Double Wear in the shade Tawny too! I was looking forward to trying it as well, but the MUA opted to use a BB Cream on me instead. I was impressed by how photogenic this foundation was, but in person it tends to look a little cakey, or maybe it's because my friend has dry skin. The lasting power is amazing because we commuted home via MRT and it was rush hour so it was hot as hell, but the foundation held up pretty nicely. Coverage was still there, and it didn't melt off even after a significant amount of time. It also helped the other parts of the face make up stay in place! :) They say this is really great for oily skin and Philippine weather so I'm dead set on trying it in the future. For similar price points, do you suggest I get this? Or do you have other products in mind more worthwhile, Ms. Martha? :)

haven't tried any product from Estee Lauder, di ko abot and price range... but if given the chance I'd love to try this foundation. No retouch talaga so what you paid for will not go to waste kasi sulit na sulit! I wish they'll sell deluxe sizes for us na budget conscious!

  14. Hey! I know this is somewhat off-topic however I
had to ask. Does running a well-established website such as
yours take a large amount of work? I'm completely new to blogging but I
do write in my journal on a daily basis. I'd like to start a blog
so I can easily share my personal experience and views online.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions or tips
for new aspiring blog owners. Thankyou!
