Gadget Haul!

My Macbook Air has reached the end of an era. It's five years old when it died months ago; I thought I was doing bad at maintaining gadgets, but some said that the average lifespan of a laptop is three years; so that means I must have done well! So I picked up these new investments for my blog and Youtube channel.

I initially wanted to get a Macbook Air 13", but a few thousand bucks could afford me the new Macbook Pro Retina 13" already so I shelled out a few more for this. I figured, Macbook Air is a pretty old model and it would be unwise to spend big money on something that might be phased out soon. So Macbook Pro Retina 13" it is. The Retina feature is life- changing: colors and resolution are better, it gave new meaning to editing and blogging. SRSLY. True colors changes everything and I'm more pumped to product vlogs and blog posts!

Overall, it might have put a pretty dent on my wallet, I'm very happy with this purchase. Macbook Pro, can you last for at least 10 years? Lol.

I only bought this for my Great Barrier Reef adventure next week (super excited!). A lot swear by GoPro, but it costs a pretty penny. I just wanted an action cam for worry- free picture and video taking underwater and found through reviews that Supremo 1, SJ cams, and Yi are great, affordable alternatives. I picked up Supremo 1 even if I originally wanted SJ (it has better reviews from friends) because it is readily available at Globe. It's also on sale from P4,990 to P3,990 for the unit and I picked up some accessories as well. Total is P5,947.00. Supremo 1 is good and for the price, it's a pretty cool entry level action cam. If you are interested, I got it at Globe Greenbelt 4 store and it's available in all Globe Gen- X stores.

  1. Great investments!!! As for me, I opted to purchase a desktop computer instead of a new laptop... it's cheaper in cost and most of time, I use computers at home when I have free time only. And purchase also an SJ Cam, which is a good investment for us.. we love the beach and is surely our go-to gadget for underwater and family videos... Already got our returns with the SJ Cam kasi have used it several times na!

  2. So there is really a lifespan for a laptop? huhuhu That can't be. My laptop even has a name because for me it's not just a thing but a part of me. haha. But would love to have a macbook as well when time comes. I do hope I could blog as well to share my thoughts. I love to have Go Pro as well as a lot of my schoolmates have it when they're travelling and it's really cool. Enjoy your vacay in Australia Ms. Martha :)

  3. Huhu that laptop's so expensive but worth it! But i want to share something with you, Ms. Martha, we have a Dell laptop that's bought way back 2008, it's still working until now, hehe. Wish I can afford to buy Macbook soon soon, hihi! Thanks for sharing this, Ms. Martha.

  4. 5 years is pretty impressive for a laptop. Usually, at just 3 years, computers and phones get so slow that you're tempted to throw them out. Haha! I will also be replacing my 4-year-old CPU soon.

Wow! Really great haul Ms. Martha! I did not know that the average lifespan of laptop is only three years. 😯 My laptop is already three years old and thank God it's still in good condition. 😂 It's not yet showing any signs that it needs to be replace already with the new one. I really would like to have macbook but as we all know it's pricey. What  I really love about it is that macbook is so stylish and especially now that you can already choose colors ranging from gold, space grey, silver and my favorite among all is the rose gold. And OMG the supremo action camera! A lot are raving about this and perfect for your out of town trip! So it's already next week na pala? 😍 can't wait for your post about your adventures in australia especially the famous great barrier reef! Please review about the supremo because I'm interested to buy one if it is really a good product. Thank you for the review Ms. Martha! And stay safe everyone!

  9. My brother has SJ cam and he takes it everywhere. As for the laptop, toshiba is the best in battery longevity even if I want to love Mac (their security is top notch) though I'm more familiar with windows os.

  12. How weird is it that I've just been window shopping for a laptop for work when I saw this post? Too bad I didn't look at this model because I knew this would be expensive. But I agree these are good investments because you'll be able to make good use out of them. ;)
