 THE VERDICT:

Fans of Mary Kay, if you've been praying for them to release a more matte versions of their lippies, here's Gel- Semi Matte, a new range of lipsticks with a cushiony texture and feel.

MARY KAY GEL SEMI- MATTE LIPSTICK IN DETAIL

Formulated with gel microsphere technology to provide ultra, lasting comfort, color clarity, and a semi- matte finish. Contains optical enhancers that help diffuse light, thereby providing a blurring effect to conceal fine lines.

Mary Kay has always had fancy, luxe- looking packaging and this new product is no different; the feel and look of the packaging reminds me of Giorgio Armani's lipsticks.

Ingredients

MARY KAY GEL- SEMI- MATTE LIPSTICK IN ACTION

Crushed Berry

Rosy berry.

Crushed Berry reminds me of Pomegranate; it's bold, but still approachable, and the rose tone gave it a vintage appeal.

Mauve Moment

Pink mauve

Moment Mauve is a muted pink that softens up the features. I likey this color!

Poppy Please

Poppy red with a hint of orange.

Aside from true red, Poppy red is one of my favorite red hues; it's so perfect for warm skin tone and this one from Mary Kay is right up my alley.

Formula is soft, cushiony, and it is such a pleasure to apply on the lips. Pigmentation is medium to heavy. It has a light vanilla-floral scent. The blurring effect is there as I find that upon application, it immediately conceals my lip lines and gives a slight plumping effect to the lips. Finish is semi- matte. Didn't experience dryness with this one, but if you have dry lips, better exfoliate as the formula tends to highlight dryness. Staying power is okay as it can last throughout a meal.

This is a pretty good lipstick, a great product for those who want to wear a non- shiny lipstick, but not exactly matte lipstick. I wish that there are more neutral and rosy colors available.

Yey. Lipstick review again! Those three lipsticks have really pretty shades. But I think I like better the red one which is Crushed Berry and the perfect MLBB which is the Mauve Moment even though naririnig ko lang yung brand na Mary Kay but i've never had the chance to try their products. And for me I think it's pricey. Haha for a student like me medyo out of the budget. But still if given a chance i would love to have the Mauve Moment, the shade really caught my attention. It's like saying to me,"buy me!". 😂 But now I'm more a pink sugar fanatic. Thank you for this review Ms. Martha!

  12. I've always wondered why Mary Kay is kinda pricey compared with other products, I remember my ate who would always tell us "Huy..Mary kay yan no, mahal yan", to be honest when I was younger, I thought Mary Kay is just the same with "Avon", seriously, because I've only seen Mary Kay in Brochures, I've always thought that it's just like other paorder-two-gives/babayaran-sa-sweldo products (Avon, natasha, etc) until I've met my boss who is a big fan of Mary Kay, she's 57 already but looks younger, she uses Mary Kay's facial products, after seeing her skin, I was convinced that Mary Kay's pricey products are worth it. My boss also buys lipstick from MK and I can really say that it looks so good on her. Maybe Mary Kay has pampabata magic, haha! Mauve Moment looks good on you. Thank you for this review, Ms. martha, now I am more convinced that this is good because of you.

  14. the formula looks lovely. I remember my mom's lippies the time before frosts, glosses and mattes were on trend. Parang era ni Audrey Hepburn ang peg

  15. Mary Kay has many more colors in this formula, I think 7 in total. And they also have more neutral colors (Bashfully You is my favorite). I worked there as a contractor so was able to get a few single-application samples. Love love love this lipstick... and that's coming from someone who buys her makeup at Neiman's. Side note: their new facial peel is the bomb, too.
