THE VERDICT:

As I grew older, I've come to realize the importance of having go- to products; seems like a useless principle given that the world I'm in, Beauty blogging, is all about trying and testing, but as you age too, you just begin to not give a damn. When it comes to eyeshadow, the more natural- looking and neutral, the better. My go- to, dependable eyeshadow palette as of late is Guerlain 5 Palette Couleurs in Tonka Imperiale; a 5- piece eyeshadow set that dresses my eyes easily and effortlessly, plus it goes well with almost anything!

GUERLAIN 5 PALETTE COULEURS IN TONKA IMPERIALE IN DETAIL

A compact palette with 5 harmoniously chosen colors for flawless eye makeup; contains 2 nude shades, 1 middle shade, and two smokey shades for multiple looks.

The palette is like a mini minaudiere with a sleek body, glossy black finish, and adorned with the name GUERLAIN at the lower center. Love how simply elegant this palette is.

Tonka Imperiale is part of the holiday collection; it's a set of essential neutrals with lace graphic on the powders.

From left to right, we have the following shades:

1- Cream with a pink pearl undertone (satin)
2- Champagne (semi- metallic)
3- Hazelnut brown (matte)
4- Bronze (metallic)
5- Chocolate brown (matte)

The powders have a smooth, buttery texture, medium to heavy pigmentation, and they glide on ever so smoothly on the lids; they're all quite easy to blend. No fall out with this product.

4- lower lid; 5- outer crease; 3- crease; 1- brow bone

I don't know about you, but methinks that compared to drugstore eyeshadows, pricier eyeshadows tend to be silkier and have a more natural- looking payoff; Guerlain is no exception.

I digress. These shadows need a primer to stay true and last long.

This is currently my travel and everyday eyeshadow palette because it's handy; I have it in my bag everyday. The colors flatter my skin tone so well and it's such a no- brainer product; I can be half awake and still achieve a wonderful eye makeup with it.

I think you're right about pricey eyeshadows tend to deliver more than drugstore eyeshadows do. :)

  6. Almost all of my eyeshadow palettes are in neutral tones 😂 That palette has good color payoff, but it's too pricey for me.

  7. I'm not into eyeshadow type of person but I like the earth color shades that they have. Good to hear that it is pigmented (well I guess it should be because it's pricey. Hehehe!)
