FAN MAIL FRIDAYS: 5 Serums that may help acne- prone skin

The weekend is finally here and I love it, and I love it! Did you get that line, guys? :D

Anyhoo! Friday is here and let's talk about serums, specifically acne- prone serums. Question is from Libby:

Hi Martha,
Serums for acne- prone skin?
Libby

 Hey Libby!

Thanks for writing; let me rephrase your request for a little: instead of saying SERUMS FOR ACNE- PRONE SKIN, I said SERUMS THAT MAY HELP ACNE- PRONE skin because I cannot guarantee if these serums are suitable and will help or God forbid, worsen your acne. I've tried these serums myself and they have helped me cope with breakouts, but I  can only speak from experience.

So here are 5 serums that I think will help you manage acne- prone skin.

- Dehydrated skin is prone to breakouts so I make sure to hydrate everyday, especially before going to sleep to support my skin's renewal process by using deep hydrating serums such as Bioderma Hydrabio Serum.

2. ESTĒE LAUDER ADVANCED NIGHT REPAIR

- Advanced Night Repair is one of the best serums I tried; it doesn't necessarily say it will fight acne, but it boosts skin's ability to repair itself and along with it is decreased breakouts.

3. THE ORDINARY NIACINAMIDE 10% + ZINC 1% HIGH STRENGTH VITAMIN AND MINERAL BLEMISH FORMULA

- A powerful yet affordable serum from Chicago- based brand, Deciem; Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is a powerful concoction of two of the best acne- fighting ingredients, making it a highly potent serum that helps manage and treat acne. I have this and will review soon!

4. JUICE BEAUTY BLEMISH CLEARING SERUM

- A certified organic serum made with plant stem cells, salicylic acid, willowbark, and aloe extract among other things that rejuvenate the skin and fight acne as well.

5. KIEHL'S DERMATOLOGIST SOLUTIONS POWERFUL STRENGTH LINE- REDUCING CONCENTRATE

- Acne- prone skin is also prone to marks and a Vitamin C- rich solution will help keep skin clear and bright; it will also provide antioxidant benefits too to keep skin healthy and more resistant to acne- causing bacteria.

That's all. Do share your acne- prone friendly serums in the comments section!

Happy weekend!

    1. No, serums are more liquid and runny in form and have more concentrated ingredients than moisturizer. :)
