THE VERDICT:

The first time I laid eyes on this palette, my heart almost left out of my chest (figuratively) because of the excitement over the fact that this is my first- ever Tarte eyeshadow palette and it's huge! I definitely had that sudden surge of inspiration when I saw the lovely pans inside the palette.

Best of all, it's great for oily lids!

Tarte Tarteist Pro Amazonian Clay palette is a 20- pc. eyeshadow collection infused with Amazonian clay; deep concentrated pigments and smart blend technology apparently helps anyone with any skill level create beautiful eyeshadow makeup looks. Product comes with an eyeshadow cheat sheet.

Ingredients

It's a sizable palette, but slim and lightweight. It features 16 matte eyeshadows and 4 new iridescent eyeshadows to add a metallic touch to the look.

What I like about the palette is it contains a good mix of neutrals and also IT shades like berry, purple, and sienna. I also like the inclusion of the iridescent eyeshadows because they allow me to change my look anytime. The palette smells like vanilla too!

With big palettes like this, it's very easy to be overwhelmed and confused on which colors to mix and match. Tarte has brilliantly positioned the eyeshadows in such a way that each color complement each other and can be applied in order of proper eyeshadow application. How? The complementing colors are divided into horizontal rows and easily give you an idea on how to work all the shades together. Of course this is not set in stone; if you have more advanced makeup skills, you can definitely experiment with it.

As I mentioned, a majority of the shades are matte; matte is reserved for advanced makeup users, but since the eyeshadow powders are super smooth and silky, I think even beginners can learn how to work the colors easily.

Check out the swatches:

The eyeshadows are silky, soft, super smooth, and very pigmented, as evident in the swatches. Take note, these have been swatched without primer nor water! Eureka! There's minimal fall out so be sure to protect your under eye area to prevent staining.

Check out some of the looks I created with this palette.

Together with a good primer, these eyeshadows can last the whole day from light to severe oily lids, thanks to Amazonian clay that helps absorb oil. I've been wearing the eyeshadows for about 3 months now and I don't remember them ever fading on me.

This palette is such a good buy because quality is A+, has a great mix of neutrals and accent shades, texture is friendly from beginners to advanced makeup enthusiasts, and lasts on all lids including oily lids! It's my highly recommended Tarte eyeshadow palette!
