Beauty Trends that will dominate 2019

If I would sum up the upcoming beauty trends of 2019, it's all about naturalness and innovation; concepts sitting at the opposite side of the spectrum, but that goes to show people are going to look for more balance this year.

Check out this year's much anticipated beauty trends!

1. SUSTAINABLE BEAUTY

- The plastic problem is about to peak in the minds of consumers and the demand for sustainable beauty products will see a rise this year; sustainable ingredients, sustainable packaging, sustainable production, sustainable livelihoods for everyone involved in the creation of beauty products. Expect a rise in demand for shampoo bars, an impending return to bar soaps, and increasing conversations surrounding compostable packaging.

2. THE STATEMENT LIP

- MLBB and earthy lips may take a backseat this year as the statement lip makes a comeback; time to bring out your bright red, hot pink, vampy purple, and neon orange lipsticks!

 3. RADIANCE IS IN

- Strobing will be toned down this year in favor of radiance; strobing is focused on highlighting certain parts of the face only while radiance is all about glowing in all angles by strategically applying highlighter on many parts of the face.

4. WITCH HAZEL, PLEASE!

- Did you know that the online search for witch hazel grew by 365% in 2018? Witch Hazel will take the spotlight this year so expect more witch hazel- infused products to come.

5. THE DAWN OF BEAUTY TOOLS

- Last year, we've seen the rise of beauty tools as more and more women started incorporating it in their daily routines. This year, we will see more women adopting beauty tools into their routine and more innovations will come out including a wearable UV tracker debuted by La Roche Posay that detects and tracks UV damage on your skin.

6. SKIP CARE: THE NEW SKIN CARE

- K Beauty may be nearing the end of their market penetration as more and more people are starting to pare down excessive skin care routines inspired by Korean brands in favor of a simpler routine made up of multi- benefit skin care products. Skip Care is what they call it, but this doesn't mean going back to the basic-basic cleanse-tone-moisturizer routine, but rather cutting down on the time spent applying skin care by strategically going for products that deliver more benefits in just one bottle.

7. GLOSS IS BACK!

- The future is shiny for lip gloss as well as glitter; the 90's makeup staple is going to hit it big this year as the beauty trend moves to a softer, dewy, more natural look. For glitter, please be sure that to patronize biodegradable glitter; there's enough glitter in the ocean already and we must not add more.

Which of these beauty trends are you most excited about? I'm excited for witch hazel, more innovative beauty tools, and sustainable beauty!
