For this edition of spend vs. save, let's take a look at NUDE PINK LIPSTICKS.
I have two nude pink lipsticks in my stash:
BOBBI BROWN CREAMY LIP COLOR IN RETRO PINK 1350PHP
NYX ROUND LIPSTICK IN TEA ROSE- 100PHP
Nude Pink lips give off a fresh, fun and feminine vibe to every make- up look. It could go on from day to night and will compliment every look from casual to formal. Pink hues naturally bring out the youthful glow in one's face and the color keeps you looking young.
- This has got to be one of my most favorite lip colors. When applied lightly, this gives a slight pink tinge that looks natural and when you build the color, it gives off a milky pink finish that doesn't look unnatural at all. It doesn't make your teeth look garish and it smells like candy too.
What I love about the creamy lipsticks of Bobbi Brown is the Shea Butter in it that keeps lips supple and moisturized all throughout the day. It has a semi- thick consistency that makes it last long on the lips. It also gives off a subtle shine for juicy looking puckers.
For those who are not fans of semi- thick formulations, you might not like this but one thing that will serve as your refuge in purchasing this is the high- impact moisture that it will impart on your lips so say goodbye to chapped lips
- This has created raves in many beauty forums, blogs and traincases as well. It's one of the cheapest yet best make- up bets in the cosmetics industry. The round lipstick costs at around $1 and it delivers good results. The lipsticks have good pigment pay- off and Nyx has quite an impressive color line- up. It has a grandma- like scent but it's not disturbing. It has a lovely satin finish and texture so application is always easy.
The only cons that I hate about this product are:
It's doesn't last long enough on your lips. If you're game on applying it every single hour, then this is good enough for you. Another suggestion, just make sure you don't use your lips that often so the color will stay longer.
Secondly, it's unavailable locally. If you're gonna order abroad, you have to seize the shipping fee price by buying other stuff. It sucks in a way because you will be forced to shell out more money when you're only up to buying just one.
In terms of color pay- off, both are excellent, but with the staying power, Bobbi Brown is the winner. Bobbi Brown is locally available. And for 1350php, it's not bad because Bobbi Brown always has great quality. On the other hand, Nyx might have resellers in the Philippines but just be ready because some resellers exorbitantly price their Nyx products. One good thing is to organize a pool of orders so all can order just 1 or 100 pieces and everyone can save from the shipping.
SO FOR THIS EDITION, I SUGGEST YOU:
SAVE

Wait, you only got your NYX round lippie for php100? Where?!?!?! I got mine for like php250 each ='(
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm officially saddened by this.
I still love your review anyway :)
sis, delikado rin to buy in bulk na same items, mainit sa customs. pag pare parehong item, pwede pagsuspetsahan na commercial purchase yun =)
ReplyDeletethanks for the post!
ReplyDeletedarn i still don't have any NYX lipsticks.
ReplyDeletestephanie: you're most welcome. :D
ReplyDeletecrystal: oh, it's not something to rave about. well, that's me. but i must admit, their lipsticks are quite exciting. :D
gem: thanks. i got mine from a cebu- based seller. i asked an online buddy, who's also a blogger, khymm to get me a tea rose l/s. :D
ReplyDeletelelila: yun nga lang. haha. pero make sure, yung tipong kakasya sa isang bag lang para isa lang. :D
I think we got it from the same person but she gave me the price of about php250 =(
ReplyDeleteI have Tea Rose, but Retro Pink looks really pretty. Are the colors similar? :)
ReplyDeletegem: talaga? hmm...si sis khymm of shopcoholic.blogspot.com ang bumili sa kon so you could ask her. :D
ReplyDeletecrissy: almost. but my basis for this is comparing nude pink lipsticks. kahit medyo magkaiba ang tone, basta nude pink ang labas. ang ganda talaga ng retro pink. almost similar, but retro pink might appear sheer because of the slight shine in it. pero buildable naman. maganda talaga yung bobbi brown sis. fave brand ko ito. you could also try uber pink, another color sa bobbi brown creamy lipcolor lipsticks. :D
I have Tea Rose & it's very fresh and pretty on me :). The colour does remind me of roses ^_^!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, it's cheap XD - so a brilliant product overall :).
(Oh, and for the record, I prefer reapplying to having glue-like products on my lips. I know that this is a matter of personal preference though ;D.)
cris: in that case, you're gonna love bobbi brown's creamy lipstick.
ReplyDeletethanks for stopping by my blog. hope you could follow. :D
