Hey! Long time no Fan Mail Fridays! :D I think I may be having a glitch on my question form; haven't been receiving some messages and have been receiving messages lately that are quite dated already. Sheesh! Will have that fixed guys so you can ask me whatever question you like!
For today's FMF, Reina asked me to compare the most popular lipsticks of today:
Hi Martha,
May I ask you to post a comparison among the matte liquid lipsticks that are popping out these days, particularly Kylie, Colourpop, and Sleek Matte Me?
Reina
Hi Reina!
Thanks for your email. You'll find it shocking given that I'm a Beauty Blogger, but I haven't tried Colourpop yet. I dunno...maybe I was so satisfied with the tons of reviews I've been seeing online already that I did not feel the need to try them out anymore! But maybe, I'll try them soon. I also saw that news about Colourpop admitting to being the makers of Kylie's lip kits; all I can say is business is business; but at least both camps came out and laid all doubts to rest. Now it's up to the consumer if they will still support Kylie Cosmetics, Colourpop, or both.
As for your question, I've compared three popular liquid lipsticks to date: Kylie Lip Kit, Sleek Matte Me, and Jeffree Star Velour Liquid. Check out the handy chart below:
Lippie mark = 1 point
Between the three, I could say that the most matte would by Kylie Lip Kit! Oh, if only it weren't that drying to the lips!
Hope this helped you out!
Have a wonderful Friday, folks!

Thanks for this post Ms. Martha. Talaga? Hindi mo pa natry ang Colourpop? Ako din. Hehehe as I said sa mga dati kong comments, hindi ako nabili hanggat may nagagamit pa ko, kaya hindi ko pa din un natatry, on budget mom here.
ReplyDeleteKylie's kit makes my lips dry as Sahara lol
ReplyDeleteplease review some colourpop lippies Ms. M. :) if only i have extra budget i will buy Jeffree Star! hihi
ReplyDeleteThanks Ms. M for this very informative point to point review on these three products. Though I find Kylie way too expensive same goes with Jeffrey Star. Malamang Sleek na Lang. Hehehe!

ReplyDeleteWow this chart helps a lot. Super hookwd ako sa mga matte lippiea ngayon since long-lasting nga siya. I think I'll go for Sleek Matte Me for our weekend getaway. Very informative talaga mga posts mo mam Martha. Thanks for this article anw.
ReplyDeleteYou should try Colourpop! It's so affordable yet very pretty. It isn't drying as well. The shades are so pigmented. I want to hoard them all. Ako naman I haven't bought any Kylie lip kit yet as I find it too expensive. And besides, a lot of people are saying that it's almost the same as Colourpop. I wanted to buy pero 1 or 2 shades lang. The jefree star naman is not so appealing to me.
ReplyDeleteThis is informative post. i Am glad to read this post.

I want to try Jeffree Star but since he's an a-hole I'd rather not give him my money. Oh, well. Will try Sleek Matte Me soon.
ReplyDeleteI love the chart! <3 It really helped me a lot on figuring out what lipstick to buy! I've seen Sleek Matte Me and I'm convinced to buy it next time. I haven't seen Jeffree Star yet so I don't have any opinion about it yet. Looking at your chart, I think it's a promising lippie too, because it got 9 lippie points compared to Kylie Lip Kit that got 6 lippie points and Sleek Matte Me with 8 lippie points. Gonna check it out some day!
ReplyDeleteColourpop is the best for me. Very affordable and it's long-lasting! I actually want to buy a Kylie Lip Kit but it's too expensive T_T
ReplyDeleteI heard the same thing about the chismax sa colour pop ang kylie lip tint Ms.M, I also watched a youtube video comparing the two and it looks similar talaga. Hmm, you're right business is business. But for me I will definitely go for the cheaper one.
ReplyDeleteThat's okay Ms. Martha ako nga di ko pa natry lahat. huhuhuhu. Pity me. But wait I borrowed Kylie lipstick last halloween because it's black and I want my lips black on that day. hahahahaha. But I don't know what kind of Kylie lipstick is that. At sobra hirap po alisin nun ang sakit nung bibig ko kasi wala po ako nadala makeup remover nun. hahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteI've been eyeing Sleek Matte Me since it's affordable and it has nice shades to choose from as seen from your previous review post :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you could review the new Koko Collection of Kylie Cosmetics bcoz their 4 featured lippies are all gorgeous shades.. Especially Gorg :)
ReplyDeleteI love Colourpop for the staying power, specially for the Ultra Matte and Lippie Stix Matte X variants! The Ultra Satin stays longer than your average satin lipstick too but not as much as the mattes. They're comfortable on the lips considering they are longwearing formulas. The shade selection is great but don't trust the site itself, Google swatches! Otherwise you can't beat that price point.
ReplyDeleteTeam Sleek Matte Me all the way! Great value for money. I'm curious about Colourpop though.
ReplyDeleteLet me know what you think of this post! :)
