How do you guys keep your 'hair' neat? All I do is shave and trim. Well, it's not good since hair growth occurs in as fast as two days and hair becomes thicker every time you shave. But at least it's pain- free! I've always wanted to try the Brazilian but dared not to because I have always been so afraid that it will hurt big time.
Do you know the movie Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo? There's this scene where Rob Schneider had to undergo Brazilian waxing as part of becoming a Gigolo. When the waxer pulled out the strip, he let out a loud, woman- like shrill at the end of the scene. And boy, that really freaked me out. Since then, I have always believed that Brazilian waxing is a form of human torture.

I've read a lot of reviews about Strip and they really swear by the painless hair removal promise of the salon. The thought of getting a Brazilian still lingered in my mind, but the fear always outweighs the want.
The universe has sensed that I have a troubled mind, so it has sent Strip to help me finally overcome my fears by giving me an invitation to try out their Brazilian service for free. :D
It took me a month before claiming the check though I already said yes right after receiving the invitation. Well, I was so busy 'preparing for my graduation, and- I am really afraid. :D
Two weeks ago (or was that a week ago?), I finally decided to drop by and use my GC from Strip: Ministry of Waxing at Serendra, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
I absolutely adore the place! It is well- designed and clean! The service is fast and the attendants are very friendly. Right after signing all the forms needed before the procedure, Bianca, my friendly waxpert, immediately came and escorted me to my torture chamber.
Strip really knows waxing. Before your session, the receptionist asks you to fill out a form. The form is survey of all the medications/medical procedures you're currently taking. Why? Because waxing is a form of skin pressure, and certain medications/medical procedures make your skin extra sensitive. If they find out that you are taking medications or undergoing medical procedures, they will see to it that you'll the right kind of wax and procedure that meet your concerns.
You will get a kit that is aptly called as the HYGIENE KIT. You'll receive your own set of cotton pads, a lot of wooden spatulas, a pack of wet tissue, cotton balls, and gloves for the waxpert. Strip prides itself in their NO DOUBLE DIPPING POLICY, hence the ton of spatulas you'll get. This way, no hair will come in contact with the fresh wax on the pot. It's so hygienic!
The waxing room is very clean and fragrant. It smelled like chocolate ('cos they use chocolate wax for fist- timers). You get your set of clean towels and a super cute monkey stress ball. I wanted to buy the monkey, but it's not for sale. The monkey will help you get through your waxing experience. Squeeze him real hard if you feel pain! Thanks to my waxpert, Ms. Bianca for making me forget the pain by chatting with me while she plucks out all the hair from my VJ. :D Their Brazilian service is called 'All Out', and costs 1200php. Hair growth is expected to occur after 6 weeks so I will say that it's really worth it.
After my first- ever Brazilian experience, I am now a believer that Brazilian waxing need not become a form of torture. Strip uses their own patented hot wax that dries in as fast as 10 seconds. The waxpert applies it directly to the skin, rubs it a bit until it becomes hard and dry, then pulls it out swiftly. No need for waxing cloths. Other waxing salons I've been to still use cloths for their hot waxes. Strip's wax sticks to the hair and not to the skin. Although I have to admit that there was pain 'cos it was my first- time. But it was so tolerable! After each stripping, the waxpert presses on the waxed part and applies a VJ moisturizer to help soothe the pain. How did the pain become tolerable? Unlike traditional waxing, Strip's patented wax removes all the hair on one part in a single strip, which means you don't need a double take for persistent hairs. Waxing more than twice on a part of the skin can lead to sensitivity and much worse, bleeding.
And if you're in a hurry, but you're in dire need of some hair removal, Strip will do it for you in 15 minutes flat! After your session, you'll receive an SOS card which indicates your Dos and Donts after your waxing procedure.
One great thing about Strip is that they provide post- wax care products. They highly recommend their Xed out cream (Cosmo's Beauty Awards awardee), that you will apply every night on your VJ skin to prevent ingrowns and bumps. The tub costs around 1650php (?), but will last you for more than 6 months 'cos you'll only need a little. They also have serums and other products that will help keep your VJ smooth and hair- free longer.
Take it from me. Strip really does provide almost painless hair removal. I am now a waxing convert and a certified Brazilian! :D
