Shu Uemura UV Under Base Brightening Mousse - mamechiyo Edition - Pink Purple

THE VERDICT:

I've been using makeup primers for a long time now, but I have never ever encountered something like Shu Uemura's UV Underbase. It literally makes your makeup last forever!

Some primers just make makeup stay longer on skin, meaning there's no guarantee that it will not fade, cake, streak, and look dull during wear. Shu Uemura's UV Underbase keeps every color intact. Even if you don't retouch your makeup and blot your nose with an oil blotting sheet, it will still look fresh and vivid. No kidding!

In case you guys didn't know, Shu's UV Underbase is one of their best- selling products, apart from the iconic cleansing oils. This one is in a limited edition Mamechiyo packaging. I'm not sure if the product itself is permanent though. But there are regular UV Underbases that work just as awesome. I have one too and it's love. :)

Mr. Shu Uemura has dreamed of creating "a light make-up as transparent as air", and came up with the sensational UV Underbase that has been loved by generations of women and aesthetic artists all over the world for more than 20 years. It's water- based, non- comedogenic, and literally transparent. You feel as if you have nothing on even if you pile two or more layers on your skin.

FYI, Mr. Uemura's mousse underbase is the FIRST of its kind in the world of cosmetics.

Pink/Purple comes off as a very pale lilac shade with a wee bit pink undertone. It's meant to brighten tired and dull- looking skin tone. Its aero light texture blends into a moisturizing light cream with a matte finish. However, the pump spews out a lot of product. I'm usually good with one pump because I always get a pingpong ball- shaped amount. But I've finally got the hang of using the pump and I can finally control it. It has a light floral scent.

Here's my bare skin with Obagi's Sunguard-C Sunblock

The brightening mousse has a slight purple reflective cast, and it turns me into a shade lighter. But once I put my makeup on, the underbase's color gets covered. It doesn't affect makeup colors too. Notice that my skin's texture has become finer and smoother as well.

Sorry, I just realized that I forgot to take a pic of my face right after putting makeup on. But here's my face with the underbase after 8 hours. No retouching and no face blotting whatsoever. It stayed like that for 8 frikkin' hours! Take note, I have oily skin, and the weather was extremely hot and humid during the product road testing. Amazing! I love the fact that it gives my skin a more radiant and glowing look.

I SWEAR BY THIS STUFF!!! It's a product that I wouldn't mind splurging on because it truly lives up to its claims. This is one of the things that you should own if you want your makeup to last. Not only does it make your makeup last forever, it has SPF 30 and skin brightening extracts that help you manage hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone.

If you haven't tried this product yet, please do. I'm sure it won't disappoint you! :)

**The Brightening mousse also comes with a complementing Brightening/Whitening Cleansing Oil

  2. jakie: Hi! Price seems expensive, but the bottle can last you for more than 3-4 months. If we're gonna break it down, it's much cheaper than buying cheap and ineffective makeup primers. :)

kath: yup! go for it dear. It's really worth owning one. :D
