Review: San San Age Defense Concealer

Here's a review on San San Age Defying Concealer in 02

PRICE: P126.00
PLACE BOUGHT: HBC, Metrowalk, Ortigas, Mandaluyong City
OTHER LOCATIONS: Available in all HBC stores nationwide

THE VERDICT:

So I deem this product as one of my best finds from my P500.00 Makeup Challenege Video, second to Allue's Eye Colour Session creamy eye pencils. (Review for that coming soon) For a very, very affordable concealer, it works pretty fine.

San San's Age Defense Line is meant for people who are dealing with Progressive and Accelerated Skin Aging. It boasts of Vitamins A, C, and E to nourish your skin from the outside, and SPF 15 to counteract the aging effects of UV rays. I find it nice because its SPF content shields one of the most sensitive parts of your face, the undereye area. Click READ MORE and know why it's such a great buy!

For 126 bucks, you get a lot of product. It also comes in a squeeze type tube for controlled and hygienic dispensing.

It comes in three shades: 01, 02, and 03. 01 is a very fair shade with an Olive undertone, while 03 fares a bit darker, (even on me) and has a Pink undertone. 02 is my perfect match because it is a light beige shade with a heavy yellow undertone. The shade range is impressive because it can pretty much cover a lot of undereye concerns such as sallowness, dark circles, and unevenness.

Texture is rich and creamy, and it's good for people with normal to dry skin on the eye area because it has a very emollient consistency. It dries to a matte finish. However, this is quite a pain to blend on the undereyes because it dries up rapidly. If you fail to blend it properly and evenly while it's still in its creamy state, it will become uneven and will create patchy areas on your undereyes.

HOW TO WORK IT: Apply a pea- sized amount on each undereye using a wedge sponge or concealer brush. Using your preferred makeup tool, dab gently on it until it sets onto your undereyes. Remember to blend it quickly before it hardens! Never swipe your makeup tool on it because since it dries up pretty fast, you'll just end up creating streaks on it. I do not recommend using your fingers in applying this product because the skin on your fingers will just absorb it.

It yields medium to full coverage. I would advise you not to layer this on because as I've said, you can't blend it any longer once it dries up on you. Should you need more coverage, it's best to increase the amount that you'll use in the very beginning of your application.

Staying power is pretty good. It practically lasts all day but with minor creasing. You can remedy this by reapplying powder on the product.

Overall, it's still a good buy in spite of the caveats aforementioned because for a very affordable concealer, it effectively conceals dark circles, and has tons of skin benefits to boot! I recommend it to beauties on a budget. :)
