THE VERDICT:
May was a pretty hot month-I thought by that time, we'd experience cloudy days and light sprinkles already, but no-May felt like an extension of April! My liquid foundations-even the light and watery ones-went on a hiatus and I resorted to powder foundations as my base. Suffice to say, I wore very light makeup last month.
My makeup remover that time? This. Bifesta Cleansing Lotion in Sebum. I'm already halfway through this thing so I thought of reviewing it for you guys today.

Bifesta Cleansing Lotion comes in one size only, and in a very sturdy and re-usable plastic bottle. When I finish this up, I'm thinking of turning the bottle into a hand wash container because the color fits our bathroom's Moroccan theme!
BIFESTA CLEANSING WATER IN ACTION
I always use a cotton pad with it-tried pumping it out on facial tissue and guess what? The tissue just got soaked and it was torn right before it has touched my face!
I use about 3-4 cotton pads with this cleanser: I soak the first pad with the solution and press it all over my face just to loosen up the makeup, then I proceed with regular makeup removal. I feel that it thoroughly cleanses my skin, albeit it's doesn't work too well on waterproof makeup, especially waterproof mascaras. It's no biggie, really, as I use a separate makeup remover for the eyes even with my Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil. For those who wear washable mascaras and eyeliners, this works effectively: Just press a cotton pad on your eyes for a minute, then start wiping downwards to start removing makeup.
I didn't break out from this cleanser, and it leaves my skin feeling fresh and a lil' dry-well, not irritating dry, but the kind of dryness wherein you feel that you don't have excess oil on your skin's surface. It's very light, gentle, and leaves no residue at all.
If you wear light and washable makeup all the time, a gentle makeup remover like this would probably suffice. It can actually remove long- wearing foundation, eyebrow pencil, blush, powder, and eyeshadow, but I use more pads just to be sure that every trace of makeup is removed. One bottle would last for about two to three months, depending on usage. It isn't really the economical choice for those who wear heavy makeup all the time, but if you want something gentle and easy to rinse but don't mind the excessive usage, I would recommend this. Will I recommend it to those with sensitive skin? Probably not because even if it's water, it may have ingredients that you could be allergic to-best thing to do is to ask around or read more reviews on the Internet.
Overall, I'm happy with this product because it's affordable and good enough for those days when I'm just too lazy or I'm just wearing light makeup. Oh, did you know that this product is quite multitasking too? Check out its other possible uses:
1. As a toner
2. As a makeup setting spray
3. As a freshening mist
4. As a 'charged' kind of water to enhance the coverage of powder eyeshadows and dilute thick liquid foundation
After this bottle, I think I'll use the Bright Up variant next and see how it will aid me in my skin brightening concerns. Til then.

I'm wondering how different this is from Etude House Wonder Pore?
ReplyDeleteI have this too; I love the fact that it feels just like water and it doesn't sting. I saw this in SG, 50ml bottles are sold at 7eleven. Hope we have this in smaller bottles too.
ReplyDeleteahh i love that refreshing feeling effect of a cleanser! :) but i'm more interested on the next one ms. m.. :D my skin brightening agent din kasi.hehe.. ;D

ReplyDeletei wear light makeup at work.. pero pag nasa mood medyo heavy ng konti..
before, i used farlin wipes in removing my makeup.. 8-5 work, i will be home by 6:30.. do house errand.. eat dinner.. change nappy.. prepare feeding bottle.. and i'll be set for bed by 9pm.. i was really tired (daily routine) so having this makeup remover is a life saver for me =) just a pump on a cotton ball/pad and removing makeup was never this fun =)
this should be staple in my stash =)
I am planning to buy this next time.. i saw this in watson's last saturday and i was curious, i told myself i'll research more about the product before i buy it... since you rate it 4 out of 5, then it mus be good! cant wait to blog my experience about this product too!!! :)
ReplyDeleteBrownOso: Wonder Pore is a toner, i think. :)
ReplyDeleteGracie: If you wear light makeup all the time, you'll love this! :)
Rhain: Wee! Glad you're loving it. :) It doubles as a toner too, FYI :)
Lian: I got a travel- sized bottle, but unfortunately, it's not for sale. I hope we'll have the eye makeup removers here soon! I have it and I love it! :)
CJ: Yup, equally excited for that as well-I wanna know how it will work on my marks. :)
san po nakakabili ng cotton pads and hm po ung cheaper price?:)
ReplyDeleteI have a question. Is wearing BB cream considered light make up?
ReplyDeleteZed: Hi! Yes it is because technically, BB Cream is just like tinted moisturizer. :)
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: i love Watson's cotton pads. :) 89php for a pack of 150 pcs. They're very durable too. :)
Sana available dito sa Philippines. I've been stuck with Maybelline and I want to try something new. Thank you for this review Miss M! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the clarifying Ms. M! and thanks again for a great review! :D
ReplyDeleteCan bifesta-soaked cotton be used as a substitute for facial wipes too? I don't wear makeup but my skin can get really dirty in the day because of the pollution from commuting. I'm looking for something that's easier to use and more convenient to lug around than a facial wash (what with the need for towels and stuff). :(
ReplyDeleteZed: Welcome! :)
ReplyDeleteKim: Yes because you're technically imitating the latter with bifesta and the cotton. :)
Let me know what you think of this post! :)
