THE VERDICT:
During our last dinner in Tokyo, the people from Shiseido were talking about their favorite Shiseido drugstore finds. FYI, Shiseido has drugstore brands, and a lot at that. Some favorites are Shiseido Tsubaki in the Hair category, Shiseido Anessa in the Sunblock category, and Perfect Whip Facial Foam in the skin care category, which piqued my interest the most. After the dinner and a brief meet- up with my cousin who lives in Japan, I rushed to Don-Ki supermarket right away to look for this facial foam. I picked up two. It was my first time to hear about the product and it was completely a blind buy, but thank God that I'm always lucky when it comes to such buys-this facial foam is indeed fabulous!

This product is part of the Senka line, a line of cleansing products. I'm currently lemming for Perfect Oil because I'm addicted to cleansing oils lately. :)
According to Shiseido, this ultra rich foam dissolves impurities and makeup effectively with its high foaming formula, contains amino acids, Natural Sericin (an extract from silkworms known for its moisturizing effect) and hydrating agents to maintain the moisture levels of skin, and provides a soft barrier that protects skin from cleansing motion. Best for any skin type except ultra sensitive skin.

The product comes in one size only, and it's in a very plushy plastic tube that sorta' represents the softness of the actual product.
It's a very, very rich, whipped, soft cleansing foam with a lotion- like texture. It has a very light floral scent with a hint of powder and citrus.

For reference, here's Perfect Whip's ad showing everyone how to use this product.
I tried my best to copy the technique, but I can't produce a huge foam like the one in the ad-all I got was a tough arm workout haha! I just use it like any regular cleansing foam and it works just fine.
Fulfill your foamy dreams: To create a huge foam easily just like the one in the commercial, a Konjac Jelly Sponge will do the trick.
You only need a dollop to work this thing into a luxurious lather. It's truly high foaming, but doesn't dry out my skin and rinses out easily-I can even skip moisturizer and my skin still feels smooth and soft. The thick foam it creates traps every trace of makeup, washes it away, and gives you that squeaky clean feeling, and really cushions skin and prevents palms from scratching it-in case you didn't know, your palms can be a lil' abrasive to your facial skin. Its texture is very unique and I always have a good time whenever I'm using it-it's one of those skin care products that is quite fun to use--It's so fun to use that sometimes, I wash my face twice and even three times with it!
Perfect Whip Cleansing Foam works great on dry, oily, normal, and combination skin types. In short, it's good for all skin types, albeit those with sensitive skin should be a lil' cautious with it. It's my most favorite facial foam to date because it has combined all of the qualities I'm looking for in a facial foam: Super soapy, lightly fragranced, moisturizing and deep cleansing. Glad I got a back-up! :)

If I have to make the foam myself, I don't think I'd ever bother hahaha :) Not for women who are on the go (or those who are lazy like me)
ReplyDeleteVery affordable price! Going on my to-try list hihi :) Btw, I voted for you! Hope you'll win :)
ReplyDeleteI saw this at TPE Marketplace (Dela Rosa Street) Near makati med. They sell a few other shiseido skin care and hair products too. Plus hada labo, biore, and other japanese stuff.
ReplyDeleteThis foam whip costs Php 280 though.
I think it's a japanese mini-grocery.
Hi Martha! Why do you say that it is not for those with ultrasensitive skin? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi Aissa!
DeleteBecause of certain ingredients that can trigger known and unknown allergies such as beeswax and serecin. :)
I already tried this... Good for oily skin most especially women in the philippines. It's too hot here that we usually incounter oily skin and get pimples. In using the product I found out it really cleanses your face and it stops you in having oily skin after using. It closes your pores to avoid realising oil on face. Nice one for me
