THE VERDICT:

A few months back, I had such rough skin that I literally didn't agree to have my picture taken under harsh lighting, so no close- ups on the beach and in flash photography. Sad that that lack of confidence in my skin inhibited me from enjoying these spontaneous moments so I turned to Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Smooths, Restores, Corrects to help me achieve a smoother skin-it is said to be a reformulated and better version of the old Laser Focus.

CLINIQUE REPAIRWEAR LASER FOCUS SMOOTHS, RESTORES, CORRECTS IN DETAIL

This anti-aging has one main goal and that is to smooth skin by lifting persistent dead skin cells that make skin look rough, dry, dull, and old. It contains the following ingredients:

Acetyl Glucosamine- An amino- sugar considered as the building block of Hyaluronic Acid; Helps break down intactness of epidermal dead skin cells for a more natural and easier shedding process.

Salvia Sclarea (Claryl) Extract- A natural extract that promotes cell differentiation, exfoliation, and reformation of the skin barrier

It also promotes skin repair and restoration with the following:

Micrococcus Luteus (Ultrasomes V)- Liposomes (a skin component) that supports skin's ability to repair photo damage by itself.

Plankton Extract (Photosomes V)- absorbs visible light to promote natural cellular repair and helps improve the appearance of photo-damaged skin overtime.

Vitamins C and E- Antioxidants

Yeast Extract (Roxisomes)- targets free radicals.

Slough your way into younger- looking skin with this product! More about it after the jump!

Product comes in two sizes, which I find very convenient because the smaller one can serve as a trial size so you would know if this product is for you. It comes with a plastic pipette that extends all the way to the bottom of the bottle, allowing you to use it until the very last drop.

CLINIQUE REPAIRWEAR LASER FOCUS SMOOTHS, RESTORES, CORRECTS IN ACTION

This product has a gel consistency that spreads out easily and is readily absorbed by the skin. Formula is fragrance- free and allergy- tested, and definitely suitable for any skin type. I also like that its consistency yields a cooling effect to the skin. It's pretty makeup- friendly too so you can use it as prepping treatment for daytime.

I've used this product for two months and here are my results:

My skin two months after using this product. 'Scuse the post- acne marks! :D

I haven't noticed anything significant until the first month as this product, in my opinion, delivers micro exfoliation down to the core with Acetyl Glucosamine-there was absolutely no downtime and no pain, redness, or irritation experienced during my usage. My skin's texture looked really rough and patchy before and when I started using this serum, I noticed that it has improved: it felt smoother, and looked brighter and more plump-these effects actually took me by surprise because I just woke up one day and noticed that my skin looked better. Oh, I also noticed that this product helped keep moderate acne at bay, but I wouldn't say that this is a possible solution especially for those who are plagued by it.

However, this is something that you should use for a while (or even repurchase for a couple of times) to see its effects because formulation is pretty mild-if you want something that delivers instantaneously, you should go find something else.

This is just a very mild anti-aging serum in my opinion, perfect for those who are in their mid-20's to 30's because it's primarily intended to give you smoother, brighter skin. It's something I would recommend to you if roughness is your problem because it's effective and priced just right considering the brand, but I feel that this product cannot really put an end to roughness as this is a skin issue that will keep on coming back, thus you have to maintain it. Nonetheless, I see myself repurchasing this serum if my skin needs something more than manual exfoliating!

6 Lovely Thoughts

  1. Clinique has always been in my wishlist since I've known the brand to be effective and safe esp. for gals with sensitive skin like me.

  2. One of the best serums I know. :) I love using anti-roughness or anti-drying, moisturizing products on my face especially the sides of my nose. I have a major problem in that spot and also, I love using this kind of product because of its anti-aging properties. :)

  3. Great review! I appreciate brands that create samples/trial bottles so consumers can try it first, 'coz most of the time 'hiyangan' lang talaga sa products. Haven't tried this yet.

  5. My mom never trust serums because she doesn't see any changes. And I always tell her that it takes a bit of time to notice changes. Nothing is instantaneous now. I have tried argan oil and they really made my skin smooth. Crazy, but it does take time to estanlish full effect.

  6. Jen: You can drop by any Clinique counter and ask for a sample. :D

Majorie: Yes, it still boils down to time and chemistry. She just has to find the one that will suit her skin!

Kim: Welcome! Hopefully, you get to try this! :)

Jen and Kim: I love Clinique's toners-they're really good, aside from this. I think I'll try their for combination skin range when I'm through with the bunch that I'm using now. :)
