THE VERDICT:

If you're looking for the prettiest, skin tone- flattering pink blushes on earth, go for Bobbi Brown; did you know that one of the reasons why Bobbi founded her own makeup line is because she couldn't find a Pink blush that was flattering and natural? Now you know and that's why she made sure hers is the best (I can attest to that)!

For Summer 2016, Bobbi came out with a blush duo; yay! It's two of Bobbi's best- sellers in one handy This is perfect for your makeup mood swings and I discovered that this one creates an ombre blush look!

BOBBI BROWN POWDER BLUSH DUO IN PLUM/FRENCH PINK IN DETAIL

This duo of silky, matte blushes is part of Malibu Collection 2016; it comes in 4 shade combinations.

The blushes come in a sleek, black case and they're about the same size as the blush singles. There's also a newly- released angled blush brush that's part of the makeup collection.

This is my first time to own a brush from Bobbi Brown and I must say, I love how this one is made overall: I love its softness, the right 'fluff' of the bristles that distribute pigments evenly and softly on the skin, and its sturdy build.

Here are the blushes. Plum is a deep pink with purple undertone and French Pink is a midtone lace pink. The blushes have a soft, matte texture and as you can see, pigmentation is amazing.

BOBBI BROWN POWDER BLUSH DUO IN PLUM/FRENCH PINK IN ACTION

One layer of each blush

Both product complement each other so well that you can wear them together at once. Bobbi suggested layering both colors, but what I love doing with this product is the Ombre blush look; this is how I do it:

1. I take plum and apply it on the bony part of my cheek, as if I'm applying a contouring product.
2. Finally, I take French Pink and apply it on my cheeks
3. I blend both products until I achieve a gradient

And that's it! With this technique, I get a two dimensional look and a contouring effect to boot!

I'd love to have Sand Pink/Pale Pink as my next Blush Duo!

  4. Loving the shade of Plum! I don't go overboard with my money when it comes to blushes. I think that a lot of drugstore brands offers decent ones and going up there is a no for me just because I want to save and invest on skin care products more. However, I would really like to have that brush 'cause it looks so soft and I think that it is worth the price for its quality.

    1. I agree, it's best to invest in skin care than makeup, but good makeup will support your good skin regimen too; they complement each other.

Anyway, yes, brush is really soft and works well with the matte blushes. :)

  5. Are the blushes heavily pigmented? When you apply it the first time, does it dump too much color?

    1. Hi Esme! Welcome to my blog. Yes, they're very pigmented and yes, they can dump too much color if you use a heavy hand so just use the tap and dab technique to get the right amount of color; the colors look fabulous on the skin and they last a while. Hope you find this helpful. :)

  7. I love how you've created a gradient using this product. How long-lasting is it once on the cheeks?
