THE VERDICT:

A year or two ago, Tarte took the makeup world by storm with Shape Tape, dubbed as one of the best full coverage concealers due to its beautiful formula and coverage. Along with fame comes overpricing by some resellers and thankfully, I found @usdirectshoppe on IG, which has the cheapest price for Tarte Shape Tape I know.

It is one of my favorite concealers to date because aside from its concealing properties, this baby lifts my look like a bawse!

Tarte Shape Tape is a blendable, creamy matte concealer with full coverage. Enriched with Mango Seed and Shea Butter extracts for moisture and natural glow. It comes in 14 shades.

Ingredients

Product comes with a doe foot applicator that is surprisingly huge! I find it a bit huge for my under eyes, but it's great to use on the larger parts of the face. I believe this product is more than just a concealer as it can be used as a contouring cream, highlighter, and even foundation, hence the size of the applicator.

What's with the name? Since this product has intense coverage (check out how it covered the liquid liner completely!), it's like you're putting a tape on your skin when you swipe it on. This is so pigmented that I don't think I can finish the tube in a year even if I use it everyday!

Texture is a rich cream with no scent. A small dot or two go a very long way and it's soooo blendable! The shade I got is light medium and I find it a bit fair; I could've gone for either Light Medium Honey or Medium so take note, NC42 gals!

Here's a quick side by side of my bare under eye and under eye with Shape Tape. The latter looks brighter, lifted, and more fresh. Lines have been reduced and dark circles...what dark circles?!?!

TIP: Best blended either with a finger or damp makeup sponge.

Here's a closer look. The emollient ingredients help tame down dry areas; I can even wear this without eye cream and no ma, my under eyes won't flake. It's also crease- proof! Another great thing about the formula is it stays put for hours; I would even have to do a second round of cleansing on my under eyes when I'm wearing it so I think it's perfect for those who can't seem to find a concealer that will stay and won't crease.

Aside from concealing, I also love using this product to create sharp under cuts on my eyeshadow looks; I find its formula ideal for concealing light eyeshadow powder fallouts and smudges on the under eyes because it literally covers them unlike other concealers with formulas that get diluted easily. Works great for facial concealing too!

Indeed, this concealer is legendary! It's more pigmented than Lock It and Kill Cover liquid concealers, plus there are skin care benefits to boot. I recommend this to those with dry skin, oily skin, and heavy discolorations.
