Oh finally! To my readers who have been asking me about my thoughts on Cosrx's famous facial cleanser, here's the much- awaited review! Thank you also to your suggestion because if not for it, I would not be able to find out how good this product is! I'll share with you today my review on Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Cleansing Gel!

I have been reading a lot about Cosrx's famed cleansing gel through forums and blogs; I learned that it's a result of customer feedback and request for the brand by their patrons. Most people love it for its balancing, gentle cleansing effect, but to me, it did more than that!

Why is a low pH cleanser important? Because a lot of it has to do with the maintenance of the natural pH balance of the skin; it is a well- known fact that the skin's pH balance is between 4.5-6, but it is only now that more and more people realizing that facial cleansers can actually make or break the skin, thus the importance of low pH cleansing gels.

Ingredients

Going back to Cosrx's product! Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser is a pH 5.0-6.0 cleanser that contains Lotus, Tea Tree, and Evening Primrose, as well as BHA for mild exfoliation. It is in a gel format to suit a lot of skin types.

The ingredients feature a lot of natural ingredients; it has Tea Tree that has antiseptic properties and help fight acne, Evening Primrose for skin renewal and hydration, and I see a fermented yeast ingredient named Saccharomyces Ferment; not a lot of people respond well to fermented ingredients including myself, but so far, I did not have any negative reaction with this product perhaps because I don't let it sit overnight, unlike with a toner/moisturizer/serum. 

Low pH Good Morning Cleansing Gel did not exactly say that it's for a certain skin type/concern; with the various ingredients and benefits that it offers, I guess it's safe to say that it's made for all skin types; just be wary of any allergies you may have.

I'm actually wondering why Cosrx called this 'GOOD MORNING' cleansing gel, then I realized that it enables a good skin habit by communicating that starting with the right product in the very first step of your skin care sets your routine and skin right.

The product has a rich, viscous gel consistency and a Tea Tree scent; it foams up, but not as much as regular facial foams; I need to work it longer and would have to use a lot of product to get a rich lather; that's just me looking for the good ol' foaming effect, but I would not advise this though because you're just going to waste a lot of product! You only need a dime- sized amount and you're good! You can also use a foaming net to maximize the product.

Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate is the ingredient that gives this product that lather; it's coconut- derived and marked as one of the safest surfactants; it's probably an expensive surfactant right now because not a lot of products, especially the mass brands, can carry it.

I have been using the product for three weeks now and here's my verdict!

1. My skin doesn't feel overly dry and taut after washing. Water alone can make the skin feel dry after washing, but even more so if coupled with a high pH cleanser; with this one, my skin doesn't feel stripped nor tight; no squeaky feel after use!

2. No breakouts so far. In fact, I have noticed that my breakout has been minimized!

3. My skin generally looks healthier, save for some post- acne marks!

4. Whenever I'd get a pimple or two, I realized that the sitch doesn't get worse while I'm using this product.

My skin is in pretty good shape ever since I started using this product. No irritation, no dryness, no itchy feel compared to using a regular cleanser; I mean, I'm okay with other cleansers because my skin is not that sensitive, thankfully, but incorporating this in my routine has heightened my skin and my experience; it's like this product did not 'hurt' my skin in the beginning, which paved the way for better skin care absorption and performance, and ultimately, better skin.

Now I'm a true believer of this product! No wonder it's hyped around the Internet! I've been using this along with CosRX Original Clear Pad and GOD the result has been amazing; I'll blog about that separately!

This cleansing gel is good for just about any skin type, especially those with oily, combination, and acne- prone skin types.
