I’ve experienced a ton of blessings last year, but also had a lot bad days too. Either way, I’m still thankful for them. At the end of the day, what’s important is, I have acquired beautiful memories that will stay with me forever, and experiences that will help me become one of the bests in this field.
I WAS CHOSEN TO BE PART OF NIVEA AND COSMOPOLITAN PH’S FUN, FEARLESS, AND FAIR CAMPAIGN
Talk about hitting two birds with one stone. God, indeed, rewards all hardwork. I’ve worked my way in to the blogging world, and God rewarded me with one of my biggest collaborations to date. I was chosen (along with some of the top beauty and fashion bloggers in the country) as a face for their newest campaign, Fun, Fearless, and Fair by Nivea and Cosmopolitan PH. Apart from all the nice clothes, food, Nivea products, and makeup, I am loving this partnership because it is for a good cause—a cause that aims to empower women of all ages, and in all shapes, color, and sizes through my story.
FIRST- EVER FEATURE: CHALK MAGAZINE NOVEMBER ISSUE; ALMOST FAMOUS SECTION
I’ll let you in to some of my wildest fantasies. First, I want to be a model. Second, I want to see my face in a magazine (at least in the events section!). And third, I want to be included in a “Top Something” list. Well, they’re not fantasies any longer! Last year, I was featured in the “Almost Famous” section of Chalk Magazine’s November issue. Up to now, I still couldn’t believe how I’ve made it to the list--- a list that considers me (and the 13 other youngsters) as a young achiever. I guess it was all part of God’s plan. Thank you Lord, and thank you Angela, Sabina, Muriel, Jo, Sara, and the rest of the Chalk Team!
I BECAME AN ONLINE BEAUTY AMBASSADOR FOR POND’S
Up to now, I still can’t get over this sophisticated term for “Bloggers for Pond’s”. LOL! My first ever blog partnership was with one of the biggest beauty brands in the beauty industry. I did not expect that a newbie like me would work with some of the pros in the beauty blogging world. As I count the days to the end of my 1- year stint with Pond’s, I reminisce the wonderful days of the Flawless White challenge and the string of Pond’s events that followed. I will never forget the beautiful people from the Pond’s team (Jacq, Jules, Maffy, and Maan) who made all of these possible. Thank you for the opportunity, and I will see you guys again soon! :D
I WAS EXCLUSIVELY INVITED BY BOBBI BROWN TO TAKE PART IN THEIR PRETTY POWERFUL PHILIPPINE CAMPAIGN
One of the best global brands in the world, Bobbi Brown, had a global campaign called PRETTY POWERFUL last year. Pretty Powerful is a campaign that aims to make women realize that makeup should complement them as a person, and not totally change them. For the Philippine leg of the campaign and as a way to launch the Pretty Powerful Limited Edition palettes, they held the Pretty Powerful contest here, and I was one of the lucky, lucky few who were called to join. Apart from feeling honored to work with a prestigious (and my favorite) brand, I also had a chance to inspire others through my story. Nothing beats the glorious feeling of having the power to empower people. :)
I WAS INVITED AS A MONTHLY CONTRIBUTOR IN COZY COT’S BEAUTY AND FASHION SECTION
Cozy Cot is a popular Singaporean site for women (think Femalenetwork.com). I’m not paid to write for Cozy Cot, but it was such an honor to be invited to write for and by a known site. I’ve always dreamed of becoming a writer, and thanks to Cozy Cot for making one of my dreams come true (and this reminds me that I should start writing for them again soon!)
NUFFNANG AND TRIXIE
I’ve had my reservations prior to joining Nuffnang, but ended up applying for an account anyway. And I’m glad I did because Nuffnang became one of my tickets to some of the coolest blog events I’ve been to. And super thanks to Trixie, the Nuffnanger who always thinks of me whenever a job needs a beauty blogger! :D
BECAME A SIGMA BEAUTY AFFILIATE
If not for their personal invite, I would never ever meet my newest love, the F80 Kabuki brush. Affliate earnings, Imma work on you this year.
WORKED WITH TONS OF BEAUTY, FASHION, WELLNESS, AND SKIN CARE BRANDS
So this is what it feels like—attending 2- 3 events in a day. But I’m not complaining! As long as I know that I’ll be meeting new people, the usual beauty suspects (aka the usual and new beauty bloggers), and getting the first dibs on the newest makeup/skincare product to hit the shelves, I’m happy! :D
CYBER ACQUAINTANCES TURNED FRIENDS
The love for all things beautiful and makeup bonded us all. If there’s one thing that I always look forward to in attending events, it’s meeting these girls and more fellow beauty bloggers.
BEING APPROACHED BY RANDOM PEOPLE…
And telling me “I know you. You’re The Beauty Junkee! I love your blog!” Haha. I got a ton of that last year. And hearing them say that they really find my blog helpful and entertaining is like music to my ears.
THE 400: 441,155+ PAGE VIEWS, 493 LIKES ON FACEBOOK, AND 457 FOLLOWERS ON TWITTER---AND STILL COUNTING!
Hey, call me mababaw, but I’m so damn proud with my likes, given the fact that I only started the fan page around 3 months ago. So that’s like more than 100 likes in a month! On Dec. 31, I’ve received around 14 likes, the highest number of page likes I’ve had in a day. 1,197 active monthly users, 2,488 weekly total reach, and 67 people talking about this, those happy green arrows that are pointing upward, and almost half a million page views. Also, I rarely use my Twitter account, and I really don’t know how I got those 457 followers. But still, I’m thankful for having my fellow Twitterdudes and Twitterettes. IT’S A START! :D
MMMP (MAKIN’ MY MOMMA’ PROUD)
One day, I told my mom “I’m going to be somebody.” And becoming somebody started way back in April 2009, when boredom gave birth to this blog. And now I’m somebody—somebody who is gravely obsessed with makeup, and endlessly blabbers about it in the Internet! LOL. Mom, I love you, and I hope you like the first tree in my orchard. :D
There you go! I’m expecting a longer list this 2012. Thank you for reading lovelies, and have a great day! :D
