Today, let's look at two awesome all-in-one mascaras: Majolica Majorca's Lash King and Benefit's They're Real Mascara.
Who will win? Find out after the cut!
PROS:
They're Real is a great lengthening mascara. Not only that, it also gives your lashes a color boost. It gives your lashes a fuller and naturally thick look. Its formula makes curls last all day, and it really works well with eyelash curlers. It works pretty awesome on girls with really short lashes, because the spiky edge is meant to reach them. The spiky edge lets you style your lashes easily too, and is great to use when coating lower lashes. It's waterproof, dries up quickly, and comes off easily with a mascara remover or cleansing oil.
Lash King is an awesome volumizing and lengthening mascara. Those 5mm fibers can really do wonders even to extremely short or hopeless and sparse lashes. It's crazy waterproof, and gives you the 'falsies' look. The special acrobat brush coats lashes really well.
CONS:
They're Real: It's not really good in the volumizing department due to its widely- spaced bristles, and Lash King is indeed, the KING in this department. The spiky edge has a tendency to collect gunk, and can lead to a clumpy application. The spiky edge is risky too, especially to those who have heavy hands. It's too expensive as well for something that you have to replace quickly.
Lash King: Even though the fibers can do wonders, they have a tendency to get into your eyes and trust me, they're really annoying. The mascara, especially when new, reeks of a sharp odor that can put off some users. The product takes some time when drying too. It cannot hold curls as much as They're Real can do. It's so waterproof that it can get irritating at times, especially when you're too lazy to take off makeup. The product requires an industrious cleansing oil because it clings really well onto your lashes. Sorry gals, cream makeup removers can't remove this mascara.
They're Real Mascara (P1,200.00)
OVERALL:
They're Real is an okay mascara, especially if 1.) You have really short lashes, and you're dying for some length 2.) You just want your lashes to look full, but not dramatic.
Also, if you're digging the 'Fan Look' on your lashes, this is great for you.
The Lash King, in spite of its occasionally irritating waterproof formula, delivers well in all aspects, except on the curling part. But there's nothing a Shu Uemura eyelash curler can't do, so I don't find this a problem.
