Last Saturday, I was invited to the opening of The Body Shop's first PULSE store in the Philippines at SM Mall of Asia.
The Body Shop understands that we and Mother Nature are one-whatever we do to the environment, we do it unto ourselves. We only get what we give. This is the driving force behind the PULSE store- it is a 100% Earth- friendly store that invites people to start caring for the environment through their Values Wall, where you get to see the environmental milestones of the brand. Plus, there's a Share Wall where you can share tips on how to care for the environment to others.
But of course, change starts from within- And the PULSE store spearheads this advocacy- from the flooring, to the shelves, to the products, and the paper bags, everything is eco- friendly and ethically sourced. Take for example, the PULSE store's flooring: The wood used was sourced from a couple of underserved Filipino farmers who sell salvaged wood for extra income. In the spirit of the brand's FAIR TRADE advocacy, the Filipino farmers have received a decent payment for their materials. In a capitalist world, the poor remain poor because the learned take advantage of them, and The Body Shop's FAIR TRADE advocacy aims to put an end to that. Values Wall: The Body Shop has a beautiful history, and it is truly worth sharing to the public because it simply inspires everyone to change the world in their own little ways. Don't forget to check these out when you visit the store. And while you're at it, share your 'Earth Warrior' ways to others through the Share Wall!
The PULSE store opening also marked the launch of The Body Shop's Limited Edition makeup line by Lily Cole, a UK- based environmental activist. She's also a model and an actress, with a recent film stint in Snow White and The Huntsman. Lily Cole is the FIRST global brand ambassador for The Body Shop. Perfect match, eh?
It's so pink and cute. Definitely eye candies and makeup stash goodies. This is the whole line. It consists of the following products: Liquid Eyeliner, Shimmer Bricks, Pearl Face Primer, Lip and Cheek Dome, Shimmer Pearls, Mini Lipglosses, and Lily Cole LE Makeup Bag. These makeups are 100% cruelty- free and environmental- friendly.
Anyway, let's go back to the PULSE store. The Body Shop SM Mall of Asia branch (aka PULSE store) is bigger and brighter. It has this feeling that you're shopping in a forest. Many thanks to those potted plants for giving us that "Nature" feel. :D
The store also has their all- new Best Sellers table, a long testing counter that features the brand's top 10 world- famous products. You gotta admit that The Body Shop has a bevy of products, and you sometimes don't know what to get and which is right for you. If you're new to the brand, the Best Sellers table will be a great introduction to The Body Shop.
And here's cute Nat Nat, (daughter of Joyce from Team The Body Shop) whom I think, is a beauty blogger in the making. Why did I say so? Because she was always at the makeup section of the store! I asked her to pose for The Beauty Junkee and my readers, and she gladly did it! In here, she is promoting Lily Cole's Lip and Cheek dome, which is apparently a toy for her. :D She's such a sweetie! :D

ReplyDeleteI really love The Body Shop and tomorrow I will visit the store to buy the All in Face Base #03 and hopefully buy the Lily Cole lip and cheek dome.
