REVLON COLORSTAY OVERTIME MASCARA IN BLACKENED BROWN IN DETAIL

Tube is pretty long, ergo non- travel friendly. That's it LOL!

The wand is packed with evenly- spaced bristles- apart from lengthening, I've observed that it has a tad bit volumizing ability as well. The product is a little soft, moist, and runny: Its patent- like finish darkens my lashes effectively, although it has a tendency to clump on my lashes. :/

WORK IT: This mascara dries up quickly, causing it to clump so here's an effective way to apply it: Push the wand to the side as you pull it out from the tube to get rid of excess gunk. Start applying from the base of your lashes to the tips using very light, gentle strokes. Make sure that the wand does not bury right into your lashes and avoid wiggling the wand to prevent transferring too much gunk onto them.

I got Blackened Brown because it's a nice color: It's black, but not quite--it's more like soft black to me, and I've noticed that it kinda' enhances the brownness of my brows and hair. In short, this mascara pulls my look together. If you've got brownish hair like mine, I'd recommend this unique color.

REVLON COLORSTAY OVERTIME MASCARA IN BLACKENED BROWN IN ACTION

Bare lashes

First Coat

Second Coat

True enough, this thing is amazing at lengthening!

Third Coat

By the third coat, the volumizing effect already took place. It doesn't give you big, fluffy lashes, but rather a falsies- looking one. If compared to Maybelline The Falsies, Colorstay Overtime yields a finish that is more similar to false eyelashes. If you like something that will give a more dramatic effect to your lashes, grab this!

I love its staying power! It lasts all day without smudging and streaking. It's actually Revlon's best mascara so far, but I won't buy it again because it can pretty much do what other cheaper mascaras can do. I know some people who still experience smudging with long-wearing and waterproof mascaras, and this product might just seal the deal.

  2. Am currently using this mascara, and I learned not to wiggle the wand too much the hard way. I like to keep my lash comb nearby whenever I use this. What I love about it though is that I can be easily removed. :)

  3. I love the way it transforms your lashes and as what you say Ms. M the staying power is good that's a plus for a mascara for me. I also like the tube though it's not travel friendly. Happy Anniversary Ms. M! More inspiring posts, useful tips and tutorials from you. More power and God Bless :)

  5. Thanks for the review Ms M! I still want to try Maybelline's first because of the great reviews and the slightly lower price of their mascara.

  6. its almost the same as maybellines! and affordable too :-) but i find the wand looks more of like tarte but smaller...so far among mascaras one that works best for me is the eye of horus..doesnt sting and stays longer..ill definitely give this a try...price is very friendly compared to that eye of horus and packaging wise i find it sleek...nice post ms m!

  10. Yeah that's the problem with some mascaras, they usually leave dark streaks. I'm looking forward to trying this one out miss Martha. Also, have you ever tried mascaras from Etude house? I've tried one before and they are really good. :)

  12. I'm not one of the women who are blessed with long, curly lashes but actually I prefer wearing mascara only during the night and on special occasions. Anyway, this review is very informative. I haven't tried any Revlon mascara.

  13. I might skip this coz I'm currently inlove with my maybelline colossal mascara plus the price is a lil bit lower. Love the color though, not so strong, but soft black. Would definitely look natural given just a coat of it. Thanks for sharing, MS M! :)

  14. I agree with the superb staying power! I can't layer it on though because I get mega clumps on my lashes :( But at least it won't melt down on me.
