THE VERDICT:

I hated Mineral blushes a lot because they came in loose form and were pretty messy, and they just sat on my skin, giving nothing but blah color. Thanks to modern technology and Mary Kay, Mineral Blush has seen a new light and received a nod from me; their newest blush, Mineral Cheek Color Duo is a collection of really nice mineral blushes and are complete opposites of traditional mineral blush.

MARY KAY MINERAL CHEEK DUO IN RIPE WATERMELON AND JUICY GUAVA IN DETAIL

This blush-highlighter duo gives skin a luminous finish with a pop of color. Mineral powders promise to give skin a smooth finish and formula claims to be long- wearing.

Ingredients

It's nice that the products came in a sturdy, lightweight plastic compact; it's just a lil' hard to open, but it serves its purpose.

From Left to Right:

Juicy Guava Blush- a tropical peach shade
Juicy Guava Highlighter- a champagne-gold highlighter

Ripe Watermelon Blush- A bright Pink shade
Ripe Watermelon Highlighter- A champagne-Beige shade

The powders have really good quality: they're pressed well in the pan, yield minimal fallout, feel buttery, and overall quality feels like a regular blush, but in Mineral form! Pigmentation is medium to heavy and finish for the blushes is matte and frost for the highlighters.

Oh, did you know that Mary Kay has blank compacts where you can insert their refills like these blushes? It's just a little bulky, but it comes with a slot that can house one of their lipsticks; it's great for light, minimalist travelers who can do with just two or three makeup products; the angled brush is being sold separately as well.

Juicy Guava Blush and Highlighter

Ripe Watermelon Blush + Highlighter

Between the two, I like Juicy Guava more because of its warm Peach shade and gold highlighter that compliments my skin tone; summer is coming and I can use more colors like these. Ripe Watermelon, on the other hand, is a pretty shade as well.

The blushes yield transparent, fresh- looking color that seamlessly blends into the skin and project as your natural flush; the highlighters have just the right amount of shimmer and I appreciate that they make me look luminous, not glittery. It has a semi- creamy texture that makes it great for those with dry skin. Staying power is okay though; it stays vibrant for about two hours before it fades.

Overall, this mineral blush is really nice; it has one of the nicest textures, payoff, and quality in the mineral department I've tried, not to mention it's fuss- free. You will love this if you're into anything mineral.

Honestly, I never tried any of Mary Kay's product:( I find it a bit pricey. However, that's not important. Hehe. Still I'm not closing the idea of trying because of just reading your reviews of their products, I have the idea of what I want to try.

  8. It's a bit pricy for a blush but considering the pigmentation, it's great. I love the juicy guava more than the other too. But I love the highlighters even more. I love gold shade. :)
