As you all know, instead of resolutions, I call it my NEW YEAR TO DO LIST because it sounds more proactive. One of the meanings of Resolution is "a firm decision to do or not to do something"; there's always the option to 'not do' your commitment, therefore TO DO LIST is a much better term because you leave yourself with no choice but to do it!
I was pretty surprised at the to do list I made for this year: it doesn't have too much material stuff; perhaps it's a sign that I've matured a notch (blame it on the business!) and I'm starting to feel my age and its desires: house, car, a more secure future, more positivity, and peace of mind. While I still want another luxury handbag for Christmas, I could do without that if I could achieve these this year (and so it is!).

1. Invest in Stocks
- A plan last year that I had to set aside because my business needed funding. I've always had this fantasy of retiring comfortably (and early!) and I plan to make this happen so I'm investing in stocks this year; I'll start little and I'll increase when I can finally afford to or if I see along the way that it's best for me.

2. Do Condo Spotting
- I wanna have my own flat in 1-2 years' time; a 1-BR. condo will do. I'm looking at options in Taguig and Makati; I will always and forever be a South girl, and I want my first house to be here!

3. Get Fit, do Muay Thai, Claim That Abs this year
- I must admit, I lagged in my fitness journey last year; this 2016, I'm more than ready to become more fit and to get 80% closer to that abs goal (I was about 50% close last 2014-205). I also want to do intense cardio again this year after a year of rest and Muay Thai is my chosen sport.

4. Meet New People, Make More Relationships, Get More Clients
- This year, I aim to make new friends in every gathering/event/party I go to to expand my network. On the business side, I plan to introduce my business to more people and close more deals.

5. Eat Cheap, but well
- One bad habit I did last year was I spent so much on food. Starting a new business is really stressful and I turned to food to reward, console, and push myself. When I computed how much I spent on food last year, my eyes wanted to fall out my sockets so this year, I plan to stick to a P350.00 meal per day when dining outside. Also, I will make healthier food choices this year. Eat cheap, but well is my mantra for the year; it's really possible with the bevy of food choices we have nowadays!

6. CAIRNS, AUSTRALIA!
- My major trip for the year is to Cairns, Australia, home of the Great Barrier Reef! I'll save up for the trip starting this month and I'll travel there on October. :D

7. Become more optimistic and positive
- I think I was at my worst in terms of attitude towards life last year; I was constantly stressed, overworked, anxious, and tired, that my happy go lucky, always sunny attitude refused to show most of the time. This year, I plan to go back to the happy me and rain or shine, happy or sad, I vow to choose positivity and optimism first!
So these things top my to-do list for the year. What are yours? :)

ReplyDeleteThanks, Ana. I saw that. I'm quite a visual person too. :)
DeleteP.S. I saw your post; thank you. :)
Yes to investments and claiming that abs! And definitelty become more optimistic and positive in life. And as for me I want to travel more to new places especially in the Philippines, I don't want to be a foreigner in my own country.
ReplyDeleteSame! One of the things in my bucket list; I wanna see for myself how beautiful the Philippines is. :)
DeleteI think i need to put 'Eat cheap but well' in my list too. Plus do some cardio also.. GO for it Ms.M!!
ReplyDeleteGo, Kennilyn! :D May you achieve all your goals this year. :D
DeleteMy to do list is to have a job as soon as I graduated this coming March. I want to graduate with flying colors too as I work hard always with my studies not only because of I need to maintain my grades as a government scholar but also for making my hardworking parents proud(^.^) I'm planning to start saving also little by little to have a rent to own home for my parents.
ReplyDeleteAnd so it is. Good luck and I know you can do it. :)
DeleteGoodluck on your to-do list, I believe you can do it:D I really hope you'll be back as a happy go lucky as you were before.
ReplyDeleteHere's mine: Eat healthier. I want to attend makeup workshop or class.Run a marathon often and have a regular exercise because I'm getting older and I feel that sometimes I get tired easily. Learn to balance my time for my can-do things as mother and a teacher at the same time.Further my knowledge and ability in cooking and hopefully in baking. This year, I want to visit and see my past teachers too:)
You're welcome. Thanks for sharing. :)
DeleteI honestly stopped doing resolutions years ago since never ko syang natupad throughout th year. However, when I was reading others' highlight of their 2015, I felt kinda sad that I can't think of anything I did remarkable last year. Parang walang nangyari sa 2015 ko, puro negativity lang yata.
ReplyDeleteSo this year, I'm determined to make up for it, no more nega vibes, be nicer to others, and save (!!!!)
Don't worry, I was told by a feng shui master and a healer that 2015 wasn't really the best for everyone so you're not alone; hope that makes you feel better. :)
DeleteAs for your resolutions, I guess don't make one if you don't feel like doing it; just let it flow naturally. :) After all, to be able to materialize things, you have to love them as a concept first. :)
I watch MMA and got a bit excited to know that you want to learn Muay Thai. We will be waiting for the photos and "kwento" of your planned Australia adventure.I don't have a to-do list for this year but i have to-do plans. I might as well write them down so i will have a concrete reminder. I'm planning to teach my child how to write her name before she starts school. I'm also planning to do a major drawer organization and decluttering. I actually started that out last year but wasn't completely happy with the results because its hard to let go of some things so i'm gonna do better this time and i'm gonna be merciless.
ReplyDeleteAwww, that is such a sweet goal. :) I now wonder how my goals will be when I'm finally a mother. :)
DeleteI love making to-do lists. It makes me feel like an adult. haha
ReplyDeleteI just got a new job and I suddenly have a LOT of free time in my hands. Here is my to-do list for this year:
1. Continue my studies
2. More Muay Thai :)
3. Invest my money
4. Get a 2nd job? Haha.
Great list! The 4th one is very good and practical as well; nowadays, you really have to have more than one channel of income!
DeleteRaising hands for food guilt hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteGoodluck miss martha!
ReplyDeleteTry investing a condominium at Makati. VIsit Arca South for more information.
ReplyDeleteOmg. I also prefer to-do-list than New Year's resolution. I am so excited for your major trip this year. Sama po ako? Hahaha. I hope we have a great year today. God bless. 😊 I read your blog once a week because I am reviewing for a board exam for this year. I don't wanna miss every single blog you make. You inspired me a lot just like this personal thoughts from you. Thank you 😊
ReplyDeleteGo, Charmaine! See you at the Great Barrier Reef haha. :D
DeleteThank you for reading, dear. :)
Your to do list is an inspiration. I can almost relate to your list. As for me, my to do list are:
ReplyDelete1. To save more in the bank
2. To decrease my makeup expenditures
3. To jog more
4. To eat less junk food
You can do it! Thanks for sharing :D
DeleteI agree with the "I choose happiness". This 2016, I will say yes to new adventures and say goodbye to toxic people. The more you think positive, the happier you will be :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely eating well and being more positive and optimistic are also part of my list. And to start exploring beauty and fashion! <3
ReplyDeleteLet me know what you think of this post! :)
