THE VERDICT:
Mythology is one of my favorite fields ever since I started reading and writing; it all started with a Greek Mythology book that my mom bought for me when I was in grade school; the stories of the Greek gods and goddesses, their powers, and looks have fascinated me so much that it led me to discovering other forms of mythologies namely Roman, Egyptian, Nordic, Celtic, and Scandinavian. 'Til now, that fascination is still in me and anything and everything related to mythology!
Just sharing! This product that I'm going to review today made me remember how much I love Mythology! Eye Of Horus is such a perfect brand for beauty and myth geeks like me, and they just launched a new product, a collection of eye shadow palettes; I have Luminous Isis and Sekhmet Smokey to review for everyone today.
EYE OF HORUS EYE SHADOW PALETTES IN LUMINOUS ISIS AND SEKHMET SMOKEY IN DETAIL
Long- wearing and crease- proof, these shadows can be used either wet or dry so you can achieve your desired looks; it comes in three palettes: Maat Dark Temptress, Luminous Isis, and Sekhmet Smokey.
The products come in a mâché packaging, a classic for most eyeshadow palettes, and with a magnetic closure; applicator is dual- sided sponge.
Luminous Isis is a collection of Brown, Copper, and Bronze shades that give eyes a metallic, glowy look. From left to right, the shades are: peach champagne, brown-bronze, and rich copper.
Sekhmet Smokey is your average smokey eye palette; I also think this palette is for those who want to sport subtle smokey eyes. From left to right, shade are: matte cream, taupe silver, and gunmetal gray.
Pigmentation is medium to heavy, texture is silky, and there's little to no fallout; you don't even need to use water on the eye shadows to get an impressive pigmentation. However, I just think that the colors are too shimmery for my liking.
EYE OF HORUS EYE SHADOW PALETTES IN LUMINOUS ISIS AND SEKHMET SMOKEY IN ACTION
Luminous Isis
Sekhmet Smokey
Between the two, I like Luminous Isis best because of the way it flatters my skin tone; one caveat I noticed with the shadows is color is only 95% true to the pan. Are they truly crease-proof; I find that they fade much more gradually than most powder shadows if worn with a primer; without a primer, it fades just as any powder eyeshadow would.
Eye Of Horus' eye shadow palettes are sexy and classy, but the overall quality of the powder eyeshadows is just okay; I think it's too pricey for 1k considering that it has a couple of points to improve on and some eyeshadow palettes in the same price range offer more color choices than this collection; hoping for an improvement soon!
