Aloha! I'm off to Tagaytay to check out wedding venues and attend a wedding of a friend too! Can't believe that this moment will come to my life; I'm scared and excited, but overall, happy!
Our question from today is Janette and she asks:
Hi Martha,
What are your preferred methods in removing unwanted body hair?
Janette
Hello Janette!
Thanks for the question! As a hairy girl, I always keep and explore a lot of options when it comes to hair removal because you never know when my skin will react to the treatment/product, plus there are also factors like time, skin condition, and life situations that will affect my hair removal regimen to consider.
So far, I stick to these three hair removal methods:
1. LASER HAIR REMOVAL
The most expensive yet the most convenient; it only takes a couple of sessions to keep you hair free for months, plus it has long term skin benefits as well. I won't deny, my status as a Beauty Blogger lets me enjoy such perks, but if I really had extra moolah, I'd go for this!
2. DEPILATORY CREAMS
- When I'm lazy, but hairy, I turn to depilatory creams. Veet is my preferred brand.
3. DIY WAX
- As much as possible, I want to use natural wax. So when I'm in the mood to undergo the whole process of removing hair naturally, I use a diy waxing kit and Strip It! is my preferred brand.
That's all! What are your favorite ways to remove hair? Do share!

never try but I use Veet and I do alone the process since I am not hairy person naman so it is just good to me.:)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was single, I have tried Veet for my underarms but lately I just used pang ahit nalang, mas mabilis pang gawin. Hehehe
ReplyDeleteThat wax thingy is super scary for me.. I have low tolerance in pain kaya baka sobrang ngawa ko after the session.. hahaha I'll go with cream option since I have kids and I always want to stay home with them..
ReplyDeleteVeets is definitely helpful with skin removal. :)
ReplyDeleteI want a diode laser removal as well as it is painless. Hihihi. But well more expensive than shaving creams.
ReplyDeleteTo date, I have only tried cold was once. Laser has been in my to-try list but haven't had the courage to try it. At present, I rely on Veet too since I know no other trusted depilatory brand in the market ^-^
ReplyDeleteI love Sugar Waxing method, but i prefer it done by professionals at Laybare Podium. for my UA planning to switch to Diode Laser. Veet is not effective for me. :(
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried laser hair removals as I'm not sure if I can commit to the sessions yet. But I've been wanting to. I also do DIY waxing using strip wax as well. It's not that painful but effective. :)
ReplyDeleteSabi ko na...Veet tlga great choice! Talagang gagamit nako niyan! I can't afford yan madam hehe...kaya Veet na tlga! :D
ReplyDeleteWaxing for my armpits, shaving for my legs. But I'd definitely save up for laser hair removal. It would be nice to never worry about armpit hair anymore!
ReplyDeleteI also use sugar wax. I dont know but for me, its the most convenient way to remove those pesky hairs. Haha! Plus its natural! I dont like using creams kasi since i have a super sensitive ua that's why im scared to try creams. Though im actually planning to try Diode laser too, ipon muna. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is too embarrassing to share, but before, I was once had a dark underarm, and dyahe 😵 Hindi ko mataas yung kilikili ko and sleeveless, and one day narealize ko that what it caused is the ahit method na gingawa ko, kahiya. Hehe! Then I watched on YT on the other method to remove hair sa armpit, and saw yung veet nga, it was effective tho and my first holy grail product. Then I shifted to waxing na lang kasi feeling ko mas bunot hanggang roots and hairlaloo ko hihi. Anyways, wanted to try the laser one, kaso for now, I'm hesitating kasi I have read a review before na mas makapal daw ang tubo ng hair after? True ba yun Ms M? Thank you I'm advance, mwa!
ReplyDeleteWorking with a student budget, laser removal isn't an option for me haha! But I've tried both cold wax and depilatory cream. <3 They both have their disadvantages, but I prefer cold wax for underarms, the intimate area, and upper lip! Depilatory creams are just fine for my legs, but they cause the hair to get thicker talaga, sadly. :/ So I do it VERY RARELY. I've tried Mumuso's Old Olive Hair Removal Cream and it works well. My legs ended up very smooth and the hair didn't grow back immediately. But it's a little more expensive than Veet comparing the amount you get.
ReplyDeleteHave tried Veet but it didn't turn out well for me. Nagkaroon ng allergic reactions on my private part, so I stopped using it. If given a chance, i would also love to try that laser treatment. But it's quite expensive so tiis tiis muna sa waxing process. 😂😂😂
ReplyDeleteBecause of you Ms.M, I've been brave enough to buy a trial size of Strip it to do DIY brazillian wax. It hurts! Like I was shouting really loud whenever I strip the wax cloth hehe pero very sulit pag natapos na. Just like you, If I have a lot of money I'll go for lazer treatment, I want to get rid of my my ua hair permanently!
ReplyDeleteI'd tried using Strip It but it wasn't that successful, di lang siguro ako marunong! I like to try the Veet Cream... I don't pluck but I shave the extra hair without using anything (just doing it during bath when my skin is wet)
ReplyDeleteI have nothing to say about hair removal since i am not that hairy. Deadma nalang ako sa mga body hairs ko, haha! I'm so happy for you, Ms.Martha! I know how exciting it is pero nakakanerbyos din. I'm sure you'll be a beautiful bride. Kakakilig!
ReplyDeleteI have tried plucking, shaving and waxing. Most of the times I pluck but waxing is the best way for me. Its just it so itchy when hair starts to grow and you have to let it grow a little bit longer so as to you can wax it better. And it takes away the dead skin cells too (as i read). I usually use cold wax (strip it in particular) and it is also "matipid" to use.
ReplyDeleteI get mine done at Lay Bare - Centris. It's not very crowded :) I've never tried laser and I suck at DIY Waxing haha. Depilatory creams are also great for emergency situations!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to try laser hair removal but have been scared of it after hearing horror or not so good stories about them. I just have it waxed or go through sugaring but when I don't have the time or the money I just do it on my own or use a razor/tweezers. My favorite would be Skin Genie's Cold Sugar Wax, it's organic, cheap and gets the job done.
ReplyDeleteSakin po I used Veet. Effective po at madali gamitin at hindi po irritated ung skin ko.
ReplyDeleteLaser hair removal is definitely the best. It is quite a splurge but definitely a good investment especially for lazy girls like me. :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Im also using mumuso's old olive hair removal cream and so far, okay siya and also super affordable pa for only 99 pesos. It's smooth on my skin.
ReplyDeleteHi, would like to try mumuso's old olive hair removal cream, but I've heard hair removal cream makes your armpits darker. Mumuso's Old Olive ingredients contain Aloe Vera Extract and Beeswax though. Can anyone let me know if this product makes your armpits darker?
DeleteHi I also want to try Mumuso's Old Olive Hair Removal Cream, but I've heard that hair removal cream darkens armpits. I saw that Mumuso's Old Olive has Aloe Vera Extract and Beeswax, but I'm still not sure if it will not make my armpits darker. Can anyone let me know how the product reacts? Thanks
