 THE VERDICT:

Looking for a new translucent powder to try? Then why not try this best- selling powder of Catrice called Nude Illusion Loose Powder; it's the brand's global best- seller, having sold millions of units already.

WHAT IS IT?

A transparent loose powder that promises a soft focus, matte effect on the skin.

Product comes in an 11g jar.

The jar does not contain the ingredients list, but from the airy, dry feel of the powder, it feels like Silica or Mica, powders that are prized for their oil- absorbing and controlling prowess.

HOW IS IT? WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

Skin with foundation

Set with the loose powder

It's a high dusting powder and mattifies skin in an instant even with a small amount. It has a soft focus effect indeed that helps smooth the look of the skin. Although it yields white cast if you put a lot, it is insignificant and can be remedied easily with a bronzing powder.

It has pretty good oil control at 4 hours. I also like how it makes my skin feel soft and matte. Texture is very fine that you can even use it as a primer before foundation, whether liquid or powder. Speaking of foundation before powder technique by Wayne Goss, I tried that out and will write my thoughts soon.

Overall, this is a good universal setting powder for oily skin. For dry skin, moisturize properly and as much as possible wear liquid or cream foundation to combat dryness. It's very affordable and can be an affordable alternative to Make Up For Ever's Ultra HD powder!

  4. I watched that technique too in youtube. I think it is like a reversed, dry version of jamsu. I did not try it yet because I don't have time, I might just wait for your post about it :D This catrice loose powder is what I used for my cousin when roadtesting some makeup for her graduation. It is quite similar to the mufe (I have the old version) even the tendency of having white cast. The only difference I can tell is that MUFE can work on dry skin, does not emphasize the dryness of the skin unlike the Catrice which needs to have a prep skin to work really well and don't cling on dry patches. Another dupe for both powders is the Ellana Minerals Translucent Loose Powder which performs the same with MUFE and Catrice and for my experience, has less white cast on flash photography.

    1. Agree with your observations on both products; I have ultra hd powder of MUFE and I love it! Feels soooo light and gives off a soft focus effect as well. But Catrice is good enough for everyday and for blotting for me. :)

  9. I was actually going over Catrice products sa SM kahapon kasi bago lang yung stall nila dito samin eh. Haven't heard any reviews about it pa, this would be the first. Glad to know na they're good products too. Sa ngayon Nichido pa lang loose powder ko kasi yung pa lang kaya ng bulsa ko 😂 Pero wow I can see in your photo that it really mattifies skin while looking so soft 😍
