THE VERDICT:

I watched an episode of HUDABOSS one time and it's about a very challenging product development phase and the pressure for baby number 2. In the episode, Huda and her team couldn't seem to get the concealer formula right and it's either the shades would end up too orange or there would be something wrong with the formula, all while having the looming pressure of a final product release date and preparing for a second baby. I believe the product is this concealer and given the trying time it was developed and eventually, perfected, methinks Huda and her team probably thought Overachiever would be the perfect product name.

I got this product around the time when I was having a grave breakout; I was always searching for the next best full coverage concealer. Overachiever did deliver in many ways than one as it did not only provide intense coverage for my facial marks, it also proved to be a great under eye concealer with a natural- looking, non- drying finish despite the matte, long- lasting coverage.

Ingredients

Huda Beauty The Overachiever concealer is a high coverage concealer with skin care extracts namely Green Tea, Rose of Jericho, and Silk Tree extract. It promises to provide complete, long- lasting coverage and comes in 20 shades.

The product comes with a cooling Zamac tip. The applicator tip is cool on its own most of the time and needs no further cooling; wouldn't put this product in the fridge as I don't want to mess up with the product.

Consistency of the product is like a moisturizer; the consistency is ideal for both facial and under eye use. Texture is a smooth, emollient cream and has a light perfume- like fragrance; the fragrance may put some off though, but I like it.

Granola is one of the most popular shades; I also find that it's the perfect shade for medium to morena skin tones as well; it's described by the website as a medium shade with neutral undertones; to me, it's medium beige and has some yellow undertones to it, making it perfect for Asian skin tone and generally, any skin tone because Yellow is a universal base undertone.

LOOK AT THAT! Post- acne marks where?! Post- acne marks what!? The product has completely covered my dark marks, but see how the payoff looks natural and non- cakey. It also sets efficiently giving me enough time to blend the product.

This product works mighty good on the under eyes as well. You know, some matte, full coverage concealers don't work so well on the under eyes because texture is quite a drag, it's drying, and looks cakey; but not this one. I find it pleasant to use on the under eyes: no drag because of the semi- creamy consistency, looks natural despite the full, matte finish, and isn't drying, at least to me-I have moderately dry under eyes by the way; those with very dry under eyes may need to use an eye cream underneath to prevent dryness that may occur.

Staying power is great; this is one of the concealers I use when I work out.

Overachiever lives up to its name and for me, this product stands out among a lot of full coverage concealers because it's multitasking and conveniently works for the under eyes as well so no need for a separate concealer! Huda indeed overachieved on this one! Will gladly repurchase!
