THE VERDICT:

Readers of mine who have dry skin would often lament that they can't find a daytime skin care that isn't irritatingly gunky and thick, but hydrating enough to keep their skin moisturized, soft, and feeling comfortable the entire day; I found what they're looking for in Banila Co's Dear Hydration skin care range, an intensely moisturizing skin care that works great under makeup!

Banila Co Dear Hydration Water + Water is a moisturizing and hydrating skin care range made with False Daisy extract that locks in moisture within the skin and Urban Water Guard system comprised of Neem Leaf, Basil, and Mint extracts that moisturize and protect skin from acne- inducing elements. Dear Hydration skin care is comprised of the following products: Face Mist, Toner, Balancing Moisturizer, Double Capsule Essential Toner, Boosting Cream, and Intense Essence.

I have two of Dear Hydration's products: Toner and Boosting Cream.

The toner has a mild, sting- free formula; it has a light cleansing action and leaves my skin feeling fresh, hydrated, never taut, and the light spring floral fragrance is a treat for the senses. Since it is a hydrating toner, it prepares the skin effectively for the rest of your routine versus an alcohol- based toner; it's non- drying too so perfect for dry skin.

Boosting Cream is a rich gel cream; it is very concentrated and emollient, but the gel-cream formula makes it especially tolerable for daytime wear for dry skin types. A little goes a long way and it has the same scent as the toner. The cream leaves a barrier of moisture on the skin that helps makeup look better and stay longer (because hydration is one of the secrets to long- lasting makeup!). Depending on how much product you put, the moisture barrier can be just right or look leave your face looking 'wet' so just apply the right amount; as I said, you won't need a lot anyway!

My skin after using the products for over a month; it looks perpetually bouncy, smooth, and moisturized. You can never have too much moisture in your life! :)

If used with makeup, I find that my makeup looks more 'fresh' even if it's been on for hours already. However, I don't put a lot because it's a bit heavy for my combination oily-normal skin type. If you have oily skin, I suggest try other Banila Co moisturizers because this is especially recommended for dry skin types.
