THE VERDICT:

Sorry for being MIA, Beshies! Ya girl is out on a family vacation and I'm just focusing more on my family while we're here.

Today, I'd like to share with you this new, posh K-Beauty makeup brand that I've used lately called 16 Brand. I have received these last year and got around to playing with them just recently because some brands have been attempting to do live events, thus makeup is becoming needed in my life again.

16 Brand's stuff are some of the cutest I've seen; let me share with you my thoughts about this brand.

16 Brand is founded by Chosungah, a Korean celebrity makeup artist. 16 Brand is Chosungah's younger, trendier makeup brand and its sister brand, Chosungah Beauty, is the more sophisticated one. Packaging is fun and definitely stylish; 16 Brand is something that you'll pick up for the packaging alone if you pass by it in a makeup store; the Koreans really know how to ace their packaging!

So I got three products from the brand: Brow Magazine, My Magazine Face and Eye Palette, and Filter Shot contouring powder.

My Magazine Face and Body Palette features four complementing eyeshadow shades and two blushers: one for contouring and one for color.

Filter Shot Contouring Powder features three complimentary shades to add dimension to makeup and enhance your features; it comes with a fluffy, white brush that's designed to pick up the powders in one go and deliver layered coverage for an instant, well done contour.

Brow Magazine is a duo- toned brow powder with a special brush tool.

This is the special brush tool. It's shaped like a brow and to use it properly, the tapered portion must be angled upwards and towards the first powder strip and the base of the tool is pointing downwards; then press the product gently yet firmly onto the powder and swipe left and right to pick up the product.

Brow Magazine's shade is warm, chocolate brown and thankfully, none of the reddish undertone; it's a soft, semi- creamy powder with a smooth matte finish.

Top, first three strips: Filter Shot contour powder
Bottom: My Magazine face palette

Filter shot has a sheer, light color payoff. You can layer it on to get a more pronounced color coverage; it has a silky texture that's easy to blend on the skin.

My Magazine face palette has medium to semi-heavy coverage; it's smooth and pigmented, and I'm keen on the glitter eyeshadow-it's pigmented and sparkly on its own, no need to wet the eyeshadow; it's got pretty good quality!

Let's try out the products:

Here's me wearing two layers of Filter Shot. At first, I thought that it was too light for my skin tone, but when applied on top of a base, it actually has good color payoff! I like how natural it looked on my skin!

I'm wearing My Magazine on my lids and cheeks. The eyeshadows have nice color payoff and have a staining effect, which makes it last longer on the skin. #16 Burnt Pecan is perfect for morena skin tone.

Brow Magazine is fun and very convenient to use, perfect for traveling when you barely have enough time to do a full face; it gives you coverage and it's not as neat as fixing your brows with a spoolie, brow brush, and all, but it does the job decently.

At this point, one common thing I noticed with 16 Brand's powder products is they aren't necessarily bold when it comes to color payoff, but provides enough coverage to be seen and make a difference on the skin, which is a very Korean makeup principle and technique. Nice to know that Chosungah has implemented a lot of her technique in her products so that users would somehow experience her way of makeup.

As for staying power, all the products have pretty good lasting powder, but they're not waterproof and definitely needs primer to help the products stay intact on the skin.

Overall, this is a pretty good brand discovery; one of the brands that perfectly represents the K-Beauty makeup style and perfect for those who dislike highly pigmented, bold makeup products and prefer something that's very buildable and pigmented yet still looks natural. I recommend My Makeup Magazine and Brow Magazine because they're innovative products that are perfect for traveling and busy days when you can't be bothered to put on makeup.
