THE VERDICT:

According to Benefit Cosmetics ambassadors Annie and Maggie Ford Danielson, Benefit wanted to create a liquid foundation that will suit every skin type, and will please everyone from the makeup beginner down to the most discerning makeup junkie. They wanted to create a liquid foundation that will transform your skin into a radiant and glowing beauty instantly-it's like your skin looks so beautiful, you'd actually think that you don't belong to this world! Lol! :p

Four years and thousands of female subjects later, Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation was born.

Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow is the ultimate in liquid foundation because apparently, it embodies every gal's dream liquid foundation:

1. Oil- free
2. Breathable coverage
3. Has SPF 25 PA+++
4. Has skin hydrating benefits
5. Out-of-this-world natural flawlessness
6. Has light diffusing properties
7. Fragrance- free

I got a few samples from the grand launch of Benefit Cosmetics last February. Finally, here's what I think about it.

Ingredients

LEFT PART: Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation Swatch RIGHT PART: HFOWF when blended evenly onto skin

Honey (I'm so money) is too light for my skin tone. My shade match from the Hello Flawless line is Toasted Beige (Warm me Up). It comes in 9 shades that are very friendly to fair, medium, and dark skinned ladies. The line offers an array of pink and yellow- toned foundations, so finding a good match wouldn't be a huge problem.

What I like about this foundation is its consistency. Albeit a bit runny, I find that everyone can work easily with it because it blends onto skin evenly even with minimal effort. It dries up quickly, and almost feels and looks invisible too.

This product also has a complimenting powder foundation line called 'Hello, Flawless'. If you need heavier coverage, set HFOW with powder foundation.

Here's my bare skin with just concealer on

With a layer of the foundation. I just apply one layer every time I'm using it because it yields a nasty white cast since it's not really my shade match. I use a shade matching finisher to set the foundation. It can cover minor skin discolorations and redness. For people with graver skin marks, you will need the help of a concealer.

Another great thing about this foundation is that it naturally illuminates your skin with the help of its light- diffusing ingredients. And nope, you'll find no shimmer in it! Isn't that great? You don't have to suffer by looking like a disco ball just to look radiant! :)

And indeed, it feels miraculously lightweight no matter how much you layer it on your skin. Methinks it's even better than BB creams, and at par with high- end tinted moisturizers, but with better coverage.

Here's the foundation+setting powder. It didn't aggravate my oily skin condition since it's in an oil- free formulation. However, I still get a wee bit shiny (especially on the T-Zone) after a few hours, and the color fades a little bit. But I find these faults forgivable because overall, it's still a great product. It gives your skin that extra boost without the 'Fake' look.

I recommend it to those who are about to buy their first liquid foundation because its coverage, texture, and consistency is very friendly to foundation newbies. It's also the best foundation for those blessed with flawless skin since people with this kind of skin don't really require heavy coverage. And if you're digging the dewy and radiant look, you're going to love this one. Lastly, it's great for humid countries such as ours! :)

I can't wait to use it again because I am so in love with its coverage. That's why I'm doing the best I could to hasten the recovery of my post- acne marks and zits! :p

I would love to have the full- sized bottle, but methinks I won't buy one in the near future. I still have 12 foundation bottles and compacts to finish! But if a kind soul would give me one, I'LL TAKE IT! Haha! :)

Me so enviouuuus! Though, I'm not much of a fan of its coverage and the price. :( When I need glow, I resort to korean foundations. Fraction of the price, sheer coverage and has the nice "dew" effect. Anyway, it looks really natural on you! :) I love your morena skin tone!

  8. how would one know that the foundation is yellow toned? is it in the label? in finding the right shade, is it true that the foundation must be one shade lighter than the skin tone? thanks ms martha.

  11. ailyn: haha. go ahead dear! :D worth your money, i must say :)

christine: how i wish i could use korean makeups. unfortunately, they don't have anything that will match my skin tone. :(

romsz: hope you like it! :D

heidy: hello dear! nope, but there are testers on the counter. you can ask the friendly benefit SAs to put some on you so you could roadtest it before purchasing :D

rainy days and latteS: hello and welcome to tbj! :D thanks for sharing! same here! :D

    rhain: they're actually 15. i gave away the other 3 :)

normally, people and experts would tell you to get rid of your foundation a year after opening. but if you store it in a cool and dry place, especially somewhere that cannot be penetrated by sunlight, it can last longer. :)

sows: this is not a full- sized bottle. it's just a sample. it's a PR sample for bloggers and the press. :)

blogchef: apply some on your skin. Nope. you don't find it in labels. You can easily tell if the foundation has yellow or pink undertones. put some on your skin and check if it's exuding a yellowish or pinkish tint. Pink toned foundation can also make you look dark or grayish, while yellow toned foundation almost vanishes onto your skin since we, Asians, have yellow undertones. :)

redshoetraveller: hello there! it didn't say on the box though, but it has breathable coverage so it won't clog pores. :)

b: nope but it has faded for just a bit. :) nope it won't cake as long as you put concealer on top of the foundation while its still in its wet state. Set both products with powder. :)
