It's a pretty hot and sunny day, and I love it! Finally, I could use again my tinted moisturizers and sheer foundations.
Speaking of sheer foundations, here's one from Yves Rocher. It's called the Second Skin Effect Foundation.
It has Cotton Milk that helps soothe dry and flaky areas, and keeps any skin moisturized and hydrated during wear.
Description: (taken from yvesrocher.ca)
A Light, airy, fluid texture, that adapts perfectly to the complexion.Light, imperceptible coverage which evens out skin texture for a fine, transparent sheen with a real skin perfecting effect. An ultra-natural, luminous finish, an enhanced bare skin effect. Second skin effect foundation has all the natural benefits of extracts of cotton, apricot oil and rose water. Tested under dermatological supervision. Suitable for all skin types and all colourings.
What I like about it is it comes in a lightweight and easy squeeze tube. It lets me control the amount I'm going to use, and the rest of the product stays untouched and fresh. Very hygienic, eh? Ito only comes in one size, which is 30ml.
This particular line has a good array of shades, ranging from light to very dark in pink, yellow, and olive undertones. My shade match is Beige 400, a medium dark beige with yellow and olive undertones. It goes on a little light on me, but it's completely tolerable. It has a moisturizer- feel to it, and it blends easily and effortlessly into a dewy finish. Coverage is light to medium. It can even out minor skin discolorations, but is not sufficient to conceal heavy ones. It doesn't have SPF, so you'd have to wear additional sunblock underneath to protect your skin from UV rays. It has a watery consistency, and I like applying it using my fingers.
I am loving its sheer, dewy finish. It's lightweight, has no fragrance, and settles quickly onto my skin. I find that it yields a 'like skin' finish rather than a 'second skin' one because its coverage is sheer. It's great for ladies who don't have too much skin problems. It's great news for me, but not so much for ladies with major skin problems. But don't fret if you have major skin problems because you can still use it. Just use a heavy duty concealer prior to the foundation to tame down heavy marks.
Staying power is okay: It holds up pretty well, but it fades come night time, at least on me. To make it last longer, I use a foundation primer underneath. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it because for a very affordable foundation, it performs so well! It's one of those great products that only costs less than a thousand bucks!
