A wonderful Thursday to all of you! Today, I will talk about Royal Effem’s Compact Blusher.
Thought: I'm quite picky when it comes to blushes because I only trust brands which I consider as benchmarks for makeup but as always, it's nice to try something new.
Let's now review the product!
The packaging is nice and sturdy, albeit I find it a bit huge for a blush. I was expecting I’d get a blush pan that's as big as the compact, but I just got a small, crescent- shaped pan instead. A big portion of the pan was allotted to the brush, which is a bit unnecessary for me. Royal Effem could've just used a smaller compact with a brush compartment so it could've been more travel- friendly.
The blushes have number codes instead of names. I wish it had names though so it would be easier for me to remember the shades.
The blush brush is very nice: It's soft, non-scratchy, fairly dense, and it can blend makeup evenly. I also like the angled shape because it works as a contouring brush at the same time. It's also made from Pony hair.
013 is a dusty coral shade with a matte finish. I wouldn't say it's a unique color though, but it could be a slightly cheaper dupe for more expensive dusty coral blushes.
The powder has a soft texture, although fallout is quite significant--it's not as pressed as how I wanted it to be. So what I do is I dab the brush onto the pan lightly to prevent product wastage.
On the positive side, it has superb pigmentation. It kinda' reminds me of MAC's matte blushes. I apply this using either Suesh's blush brush or the brush that comes with it. I apply it sparingly because it's too pigmented, and I end up looking like a clown if I apply too much. For me, one or two layers is enough.
Here's 013 on me. It imparts a lovely warm color onto my cheeks, reminiscent of the golden orange sunset. I like pairing this blush with warm orange and red lipsticks.
It stays intact the whole day. It's best for people with oily skin because the dryness of the powder helps absorb oil. And even if the powder has a chunky texture, it still looks natural given that it's blended evenly onto your skin--it doesn't seem as if it's just sitting on top of your skin. For people with dry skin, it's best to load up on moisture first prior to using this product.
I wouldn't say it's HG material, but I still like this product because the shade is nice and overall, it performs well. It also comes in 7 other shades, which you can view on their official website. However, methinks the swatches on the website are completely inaccurate, so it's best to see the blushes in person. At the moment, you can only purchase Royal Effem makeup through Facebook but the good news is, it will soon be available in all Jesi Mendez salons nationwide so please keep on checking my blog for more deets.
In the meantime, please visit ROYAL EFFEM PHILIPPINES on Facebook for orders and inquries.
